Hi. Looks great. Does anyone know if you need to leave a gap between the boards end to end when you add the continuing board. these all look continuous with no gap but I wonder if they stay like that? Would they last as well as traditional fences with wider boards? I've seen some put vertical supports every 2 feet (600mm). Would every 3 foot (900mm) be sufficient with the actual posts being 6 feet (1800mm) apart? Finally, would a 4x4 post support a 2 sided fence like this with EPDM or tar paper in between the 2 sides? I love to build one but even though these are popular in Europe, no one seems to have them here in the US. I would really appreciate a response if anyone could answer my questions.

@@Matipolandscaping Do you typically need to ask permission to fix onto the concrete posts - assuming 1 side belongs to the neighbour if you had to take it down for maintenance is that going to be possible to remove the concrete screws? Great job!

We recomend using pressure treated battens.. however if that's not possible..a coat of high quality oil on all four sides prior to install will certainly improve the life of the timber greatly! 👍⚒

We have used 10mm spacing for this particular screen! We have also used 5mm spacing for screens without the membrane to create a bit more privacy

any tips to prevent warping? built a timber batten fence on the project i’m on atm, about 2-3 weeks ago. A 4x4 post every 1.9m and an upright batten behind the horizontals every 630mm, and i’ve still got some warping occurring already! any help appreciated. Cheers
@Matipolandscaping
@Matipolandscaping 3 жыл бұрын
Should really be fully framed with a top, and bottom rail n then vertical frame in between.. but 630mm is pretty tight.. you talking major warp or just 1 or 2mm every now n again..? We get very slight warping but nothing that bothers me 🤷‍♂️⚒👌

@@Matipolandscaping ah okay, it’s my first one so live and learn! hadn’t seen too many people do the horizontal rails hence i didn’t bother. No it’s nothing major, just slight buckling here and there, just worried in case it gets worse as it’s already started after only sort of 3 weeks, or weather the 630mm verticals should hold it pretty solid for the foreseeable?
