Great video. Did you drill holes when you marked the mounting points? Won’t drilling cut a hole cut through the tubes resulting in a leak?
@GREASEGARAGE4 ай бұрын
@@ronramos1613 Great question, We were lucky enough that the fin section of the intercooler lined up with the mounting points on the fan, And all we had to do was mount it with the supplied plastic lock ties 🙂, If you have anymore questions let me know

Any update? Also is there a way or an IAT sensor that could be used instead? This is something i have been wanting to do for my rx7 for a very long time.
@GREASEGARAGE4 жыл бұрын
100% You just need to find a screw in temperature switch that goes to ground when the pre-set temp is researched, and use that to trigger a relay to supply power to a intercooler fan, or a Thermostat that you can adjust and trigger a relay with, the best opinion is, You also can program a fan to be trigger in a aftermarket ecu, If a IAT is already been wired in, this will be very easy to get the ecu to trigger a relay for any condition or if you have electric thermo fan already, you could get a relay to trigger by joining into the wiring that is going to the radiator fans, either from a power wire or a wiring going to earth

@@GREASEGARAGE thanks ill research more. Ive been trying to find such an iat. Im running power fc. But now i finally see a reason to try something else. Not saying i will. Ill check out the trigger wheel thing u mentioned
@GREASEGARAGE4 жыл бұрын
So when I say trigger, I'm talking about a trigger for a relay, Example: Wiring that goes to earth or gets voltage when a condition is met.. This is a thermostat set up I was talking about, to give you an idea www.sparesbox.com.au/part/davies-craig-digital-thermatic-fan-switch-kit-0444?gclid=Cj0KCQiA5bz-BRD-ARIsABjT4njIYI2UPSHC-W2EGG9gHy-VQrFlkLG3BKS9_fqq9gJChZdtpjWzl7MaAtALEALw_wcB

Intrested if it affects specs, or if insurance will cover it?

this is a good Question, and my answer would probably depend on where you live, but because a fan came standard on the 2.8l Patrols. I would say you would be fine ! Also As your not changing anything structurally i would be surprised if there would be a issue with insurance

Why do we need a fan on the inter cooler. What effects would a faulty fan have on the intercooler

Hi, i have 2 quetions whats the result In EGT after that mod? And do you think people in au will buy custom turbos from Poland Stock zd30 has got 160hp on engine shaft, What price you think will be fair for hybrid turbo stage1 (bigger compressor wheel) 200-210HP on ENGINE SHAFT (in europe nobody mesure power on wheels)???
@GREASEGARAGE3 жыл бұрын
Sorry about the late reply I wanted to do some research before I answered, if you wanted to take the market you would want to be around the $1500 AUD as there is already acoulpe of replacement performance turbos for sell here around the $2000 mark thats have established names, and with the fan, we haven't done the testing yet .. been busy with other projects, but I might make that my next video after the Valiant part 3.1 which drops tomorrow 7am West Aus time

Couple of questions. Wouldnt it be better to push the air instead of pull? and also... I would love to have seen BEFORE temps.. and some AFTER temps with the fan.
@GREASEGARAGE3 жыл бұрын
i have a episode about this. that hasn’t been released yet , the only thing with pushing the air, is the space the actual fan takes up.. and would cause blockage problems
