Hey mate I've set this up on my pathfinder how do I set a boost gauge up with one of these the tubing?
@GREASEGARAGE Жыл бұрын
Great question, So what you want to do is have a separate line with no tees off it from your boost gauge to the intake manifold this is the ideal way of doing it, you can also on a diesel get a reading off the intercooler piping.. which is what we did, you can buy a brass fitting and use a thread tap to install a new line, I used a 1/4 hose bard with a 6mm/10mm TBSP thread 😊 on the intercooler piping on the cold side, hope that helps

I've been looking at this gfb months and months ago and no one had a video, but finally! Thank you! I'm 7 mins in.. I should probably wait till the end 🤷♂️

Awesome waiting on your dyno update, is the ecu currently on factory settings? What's the drive like atm?

And can you please do more tech or info on this controller just to understand a bit more 😁 Have a mitsubishi 2.5 and the other boys on fb are 'tech experts' so no help lol
@GREASEGARAGE4 жыл бұрын
drives really good, you just adjust the spool and boost for daily driving and off track so it get the best of both worlds

Used one of these found the rise rate open to maximum was not enough to keep my egts under 600 degrees so went straight back to tillex dawes and needle... now sit at 500 degrees maximum set to 16 psi going in for a dyno run soon to boost it more without seeing limp mode
@evdudeguy4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for showing this install. Am considering using one of these instead of the Dawes / Needle / Tillix valves and you've pretty much convinced me. Looking forward to the dyno run.

I'm thinking of running this valve on a D40 with the pneumatic actuator will it work?
@GREASEGARAGE Жыл бұрын
, Great question, the ZD30 is a pneumatic actuator adjusting the vanes in the turbo, so i’m sure it would work on the D40 engine if your using variable vane turbo i’m not sure how it would go on a wastegate style turbo though, i would message GFB directly.. I hope that helps
@rafailakos Жыл бұрын
@@GREASEGARAGE No I'm using the stock turbo with the pneumatic actuator so I think it'll work.I messaged GFB so that I can be sure though

Got one of these in my crd gu aswell, the old dawes and needle valve wasn't holding the 21psi asked of it on the dyno when had it tuned and this does the job very nicely!!! Also from albany
@GREASEGARAGE3 жыл бұрын
thank you 🙏 for the feed back, they seem to work really well, did you end up getting it tuned ? and what was the befor and after if you don’t mind me asking
@Swwa893 жыл бұрын
@@GREASEGARAGE yeah mate modified did it however ufi did a bit of a touch up as my dawes valve wasn't holding 21psi hence why went the gfb. Went from 104hp to 175 and 299nm to 468 but makes peak torque at 2200 and peak power at 3200 so goes quite well have put 15k on since tune without issue

Have you heard about the GFB electronic valve controller? I am planning on replacing tillix valve but unsure if it would really work with a VNT/VGT turbo. Asked GFB and I was told to look up for KZbin videos 🤦♂️
@GREASEGARAGE3 жыл бұрын
haven’t played with there electric valve controller yet, so sadly i can’t help you with anymore information, these manual valves do work, we put it on the dyno and tested it out.. im editing the video now. so hopefully but the end of the week

@GREASEGARAGE3 жыл бұрын
@@Reaper_1994 okay your hitting over the boost limit for more then 10-30seconds.. you can get these pumping out 30psi but there is no point , you will loose power , the dyno video is a very extreme edit, daul to all the graphing, but i have started on it, to get it ready for you guys

Did you unplug the factory controller or leave it plugged in? Mine hits limp mode on 2-3 shift(auto) at 15psi, thinking spool rate is too high
@GREASEGARAGE4 жыл бұрын
We left it plugged it, we can crank the spool right up, and cruising around with 15psi.. please keep us in the loop

GREASE GARAGE I tried with it unplugged last night, managed to get 17psi out of it, still over boosting on the 2-3 shift under heavy acceleration. Getting better tho, needs more tampering!
