Hello! When im trying to charge my lithium battery via AC (240v) i can see from the remote controller that all are going into the load and not the battery itself. The battery is being charged via the car and the solar panel without issues. Any ideas where it could have gone wrong?
@REDARCElectronics5 ай бұрын
Hello, this is a common issue we see always relating to the battery monitor being installed incorrectly. It is important that all currant flows through the battery monitor for accurate battery information. For further information regarding this, we recommend contacting the REDARC technical team on 1300 733 272

what’s a rough guide on how long the battery charge cycle takes. like when you first set the display up?
@REDARCElectronics11 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! A rough guide is battery size (AH) divided by 30 should equal a approximate time to calculate, providing the Manager30 is connected to mains power.

Hi, I've got one of these in my caravan, question is, when connecting my car's battery to the manager30 via anderson plug, do i need a redarc sbi in between them or do i just run straight through with a 50A fuse?
@REDARCElectronics Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The Manager30 has built in isolation and does not require a SBI or another isolator on the input of the charger.

hi great video where does the negative of the solar panel connect to in the system you spoke about the positive connection , thanks pete
@REDARCElectronics2 жыл бұрын
Hi Pete, thanks for your comment. The negative of any Solar needs to connect to the common ground of the system - eg the GND side of the Battery Sensor. This is along with all your other load negatives too, same connection process there. If you need any further assistance don't hesitate to contact our helpful Tech Support Team on 1300 REDARC.

Hi i have an sbi12-lld between my aux battery and fridge. Does the earth wire get connected to the load disconnect point on the manager 30?
@REDARCElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the SBI12-LLD black earth cable needs to be wired into pin 2 of the Manager30. Once this is completed you can access the Load disconnect feature in the settings menu and set the disconnect trigger. Contact our helpful Tech Support Team on 1300 REDARC to discuss in greater detail over the phone.

So you can’t series connect panels, just parallel ??
@REDARCElectronics2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jorgi, thanks for your comment. The Manager30 (and all our DC-DC charging systems) accept up to a maximum of 32VOC - meaning yes nominal 12V solar panels can only be connected in parallel, not series.

Hello, I have my system and plan on installing it next week. Re-watching the video to make sure I've got it down. However, I noticed he mentioned using 0 - 2 gauge wire in the materials to have section in the beginning, but I'm not sure where he used them and I don't see that in the instructions. Any advice will help. Thanks!
@REDARCElectronics2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, and for your interest in REDARC products. The 0/2 B&S cable mentioned was used as the cable between the Battery, and the BNEG terminal of the Manager’s Battery Sensor. This is to cater for any loads that may be drawing high currents from your battery - such as an inverter or even just a lot of small loads combined. The reason no other mention of this cable or visual shown was due to the focus on the Manager30’s install and not the remainder of the 12V system. Any further questions please don't hesitate to contact our helpful Tech Support Team over the phone who will be more than happy to discuss in greater detail.

Can you have 2 remote monitors on the same manager 30 via splitter? For example one in cab and one camp side by the batteries.
@REDARCElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your message and yes you can run two screens using a 3-way splitter, but ensuring that the cable length is no more than 10 metres. Any further questions please feel free to contact our helpful Tech Support Team in our head office who will be more than happy to walk you through this in greater detail over the phone.

I cant wait to install the full red vision system in our 4 month old jayco expanda outback and a redarc inverter and getting rid of the 50+kgs and 3 gel batterys and put 1 or 2 lithium batterys in I use redarc in my 200 series. I am not a fan at all of the battery manager system that jayco use since having our van and starting our 2 year tour of the best place we've had nothing but issue's with the battery manager system that has been used . We were always going to have the expanda fitted with redarc red vision system . The red vision system offers so much more in the unit it's every thing all in 1 unit unlike the system in the van now that has so much stuff not include it's all add on . To get to the point of the red vision system I would need to out lay alot of coin to get the battery manager system in the van now any were up to the standard of the red vision system. I would much rather spend my money on a product that i know and never had any issues with what i use from redarc now than waste my money on a system that's giving us nothing but trouble since we started our 2 year tour . There is only 1 12volt specialist and its all Australian made and owned it's redarc only the best . I even asked jayco if i was to supply the full redarc red vision system could it be fitted at the time of bulid or have the wiring run so when it come to the dealer ship it could be fitted there I was told straight out no no to both that we asked I should have expected that answer when i asked if i could up grade the battery manager system so it was lithium ready and we were told the only way i would get it was to have lithium batterys installed

Do these components need to be vented if installed in an enclosed compartment? Heat dissipating fan required?
@REDARCElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi there Bala, thanks for your message. The system can be mounted on any sort of surface, so long as it is secure. The orientation of the charging unit is important to allow for best heat dissipation; usually horizontal is ideal. It doesn’t need to be in a fully vented area as the heatsink does most of the work, but any extra flow that it can have is helpful.

Hi Redarc, My question is regarding the fuse size between the BMS terminal 1 and the aux. battery +’ve terminal - the BMS manual advises a 40A fuse, but in this video you advise a 60A fuse. Can you please advise the size this fuse should be.
@REDARCElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Riley, thank you for your question. The BMS output is current limited to 30A so a 40A fuse is acceptable however a higher rated fuse is required for the input circuit. REDARC offer fuse kits in 40 and 60A variants, these fuse kits come with 4 fuses, 4 cable lugs and 2 fuse holders. Using a 60A fuse on both input and output is acceptable as the fuse is only there to protect the wiring from a short circuit and the 60A fuse would protect the wiring in this situation. Essentially either option is fine for your output fuse but the most cost effective option is to use an FK60 fuse kit to cover both bases.

Hi Guys, I have the 1230S2 earlier model and have been very happy with it managing 2 x AGM 100ah batteris (one in car, other on camper trailer - I just know that it reads 50% out when trailer disconected). I am going to upgrade to a lithium battery, but what I need to know is, can I inter-mix one AGM with one lithium or do I need to upgrade both batteries to be the same type and size?
@REDARCElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brendan, when linking batteries in parallel it is always necessary that they are all the same size and chemistry. It is also recommended that any battery in parallel be as close as possible to the other battery to ensure the best possible charge equalisation. Any other questions please feel free to contact our Tech Support Team directly.

What size cable do I run from my start battery to the manager 30?
@REDARCElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Obaha, The size of the cable required will depend on the length of the cable. For a cable length equal or less than 3m, 8 B&S (8AWG) automotive cable with approximately 8mm² cross-sectional area is all that is required, however beyond 3m the cable should be increased to 6 B&S (6AWG) with 13.5mm² cross-sectional area.

what size lugs and heat shrink do we need?
@REDARCElectronics4 жыл бұрын
We recommend using cable sizes between 8 B&S/AWG and 4 B&S/AWG, depending on the length being used. Up to 3m, we recommend 8 or 6 B&S and over 3m, upgrade to 4 B&S. I would buy lugs/connectors and heatshrink to suit these sizes appropriately

Is it possible to have a switch setup to link your auxiliary battery and your start battery to jump start your car?
@REDARCElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi David, setting up a jump-start switch/solenoid from your auxiliary battery to your main is a possibility - ensuring that a separate circuit is created when doing so, rather than using the wiring that exists between the vehicle, Manager30, and the auxiliary battery.
