It came out pretty good I think. Haven't been on the water yet cause I'm doing carpet and other electronics, but its sturdy for sure using the polymer disconnect bracket.

Thanks, Mark, for your vids. I am going to put an anchor winch (Trac Outdoor 25 Fisherman) on the deck where the Edge TM was. Do you think I can screw it down or should I bolt it down? How thick is the plywood under the deck? How long were the bolts you used?

I used the hardware that came with the Minn Kota removable mounting bracket. You probably could just screw it down but over time I think it would fail. Bolts with big washers on the under side if you really want to be sure.

So did you mount the motor to the plate with the bolts that came with the trolling motor? Or did they come with the quick release

WhiteWidowHerb all hardware needed to mount the unit came with the mounting bracket. It does have a quick release bracket that connects the two pieces.

Mark did you go with the 24 or 12 volt, Also did you go back with 45" or if not what length shaft? I am looking at terrova 24 volt and 45" shaft but wanted to see what are others going with on their classics. Thanks for your help

I have a 12v with the 45" shaft It works great for me. I have the original batteries and have had zero issues.

I long piece of shelving track and duct tape. It was not ideal but it worked.

Hey did you cut the plug from Edge and just connected to the new terrova wire? It doesnt matter that is 10gauge and plug is 8?

Mark, We have talked about this and I was leaning towards the MG XI5. Well after further research I decided to go with the Terrova. I remembered your videos so studied this one many times to get myself ready for install. Your videos have been very helpful and really appreciate you!! Now I have done the install and tomorrow the wiring. I have a situation with the motor. Does the ynit need power to it in order to deploy? When I press down the foot pedal it will not release. 2nd question; have you experienced any issue using the factory wiring harness of 8ga in

No power needed you have to help it up then it falls down into the water. I use lid the factory wiring and have zero issues.

Curious if there is a reason you didn't cut the plug off the edge and use that. I'm planning on doing that but want to make sure Im not missing something?

Just Jim Time my reasoning was in case I wanted to sell the edge or use it in the future the plug was cheap on Amazon I think 10-12 bucks.

The cover will not fit with Terrova on the bow I can remove it to put the cover on however.

Front deck could use some adhesive EVA Foam just like the rest of the deck . its cheap enough on Amazon

What length shaft did you use? If you use a longer that 45" what was the reason?

I used a 45 model because the old one was a 45 and as far as length it is perfect. You could go longer if desired.

I just see one possible problem: When you launch the boat, will the trolling motor hit the roller on the trailer when it drops down? Oh, BTW, thanks for the tip about over tightening the prop nut. I made that mistake and I think maybe that is what caused the shaft bearing to pull out of position and start making noise.

I heard the heading sensor is only an option and offers not much to the Terrova. Is it true? What does the heading sensor offers or add to the motor which has already the ipilot in it? Thanx

Olivier LG the i-Pilot uses the heading sensor or gps puck. If you had a fish finder with the ability to use the i-Pilot function you wouldn’t need the puck. I don’t have a gps unit.

I think so? I did not investigate it but it’s possible it’s 3/4”. I could only see the bottom of it due to the lip on the bow plate.
