Worth mentioning that a huge number of MX-5s, particularly mk1s, don't have the frankenstein bolts, or the latch plates for the the rear roof clasps. Easy parts to install and still available brand new from Mazda, but check you have them first or your roof won't fit.

Those rear chrome mounting bolts are referred to as "FRANKENSTEIN" bolts if you need to order some as they were missing from my mk1. If you have room i just fit my hard top with the doors slighty open. Also just for neatness i like to have my catches on my folded- up softtop set in the closed position.GOOD VID. Yeah a few people on Facebook have mentioned that the Frankenstein bolts don't always come on the car. I didn't realise that before making the video so thanks for mentioning it 🙂 I thought they all had them from factory!!

Undo the frankenstein latch covers and you can see it go in properly (or not) and you can also adjust the fit. There is a small bolt to the side of the cover and you can undo that and then swing the cover over.

Yes, you just fold the soft too down and then the hard top goes over it

Yeah it was completely water tight, never had any issues with it leaking while I had it 🙂

It's only made of fibreglass so I'd imagine it wouldn't make much difference. I think unless you've got a cage then your probably going to have a very bad time if it rolls over 😅

It's an optional spoiler that Mazda offered from the factory as part of a body kit made by Tupperware. They're quite rare, I just sold this one for £300

You forgot to close the clips of the softtop before putting the hardtop. Is to avoid soft top to move inside once the hard top is installed!!!!!
