How To Install a Progression Ignition - NEW Progression Ignition Programmable Bluetooth Distributor

A Little Advice... Remove cap and wires from old distributor BEFORE removing it from engine, Then Rotate engine until rotor points to Number 1 position on distributor, (Mark distributors #1 position after removing cap) and Balancer is pointing to TDC. This way TDC and oil pump drive will be lined up already. When installing new distributor Without Cap on it and Number 1 position marked before removing cap, Have new distributor pointing to the number 1 position then rotate distributor clockwise slightly because when installing it, it will rotate slightly counter clockwise meshing with cam gear. If done this way it should drop right in, be very close to #1 timing position and drop right on oil pump drive rod. If it looks like it is off by 1 position, lift and turn direction needed and reinstall so it lines up perfect when seated to block. I hope this helps. You are doing great work but I was taught this a long time ago and works every time, engine starts right up and you will never be 180 deg out of time. Thought I would pass the knowledge along... I installed one on my Pontiac. The factory resistor wire carries enough voltage to operate the control side of a relay. So i just ran a 10ga wire from the alternator to the relay then to the coil. Works great

Thought about doing this when the HEI in my 69 Camaro went out a few months back. I decided to go with an standard AC Delco replacement instead. I was worried this would introduce more potential reliability problems. Ill be interested to know how long it lasts. 👍

Hey i know that this isn't on your latest titan video but i wanted to ask if you could review and go over the installation of the pop-n-lock system for the titans tailgate. I've looked at my titan briefly thinking about getting it and just not too sure how to pop the panel off of the tailgate as well as where to wire it into the cab, Thank you!

I noticed you were reading 0 on the vacuum at idle. Are you running it ported or it wasn’t hooked up?

The port on the Progression Ignition from what I can tell isn't used... its there to keep the factory look of the vacuum lines

Jacobs6865 is correct, if you have not done so yet. The nipple at bottom of distributor base requires full manifold vaccum hose from front of carb plugged into it. I'm running this distributor using the large cap HEI version on my '78 camaro. So far it has worked flawlessly for the last year. Being able to adjust timing from my phone on the fly has saved me lots of time and headaches from changing out springs and weights trying to get everything dialed in optimally to my engine combo.
