I just ordered one of these yesterday along with a platform bike rack from etrailer. We have a '16 Equinox, which is the same setup as far as installation.I watched the video they have on the product page, but wanted to see it done without the benefit of a hydraulic lift and power tools😄Great video, the dog was very cute and helpful!

I seen here in SoCal a 4cyl equinox towing what I believe a 3k lb travel trailer I was jaw dropped! With the v6 it’s rated to tow 3500

I want some of these bolts to add some tie down rings underneath my equinox. There are no places to tie anything down other than the roof rack.

Hi! Have you tried towing a u-haul trailer yet? I was planning to tow 5x8 trailer with about 800lbs of weight inside. I installed the hitch, but now I'm really hesitating, especially knowing that I would need to drive though the mountains. What do you think? Will I destroy my car?

You’re right to be hesitant. Most cars are not built for heavy towing. Short distance with a light load should be ok if you drive smart, but mountains are another thing altogether. You may find it will be under powered (if you have a 4 cylinder don’t even try it). . The transmission definitely isn’t built for that abuse. And more importantly you should really have trailer brakes when towing in the mountains. Brakes are under a tremendous amount of stress in those conditions and if they give out you have a big problem.

When you're given multiple pull wires you leave them on until the hitch is in place.

What does torqued to 75 foot pound mean? How do you measure that?

You need a special torque wrench to measure that. 75 is quite a bit so basically make it as right as you can get it and it’ll be fine.
