Can you add a link to the trouble shooting video. I have a red light

I’m confused by grounding (earthing the metal body of unit) - I’m presuming this refers to the 240v side of things - I see the advice is to earth to the chassis but the chassis of a 4WD isn’t connected to the earth except via the tyres, which presumably act as an insulator to some degree - doesn’t this increase the risk of electrocution if the chassis becomes 240v AC ‘live’ and the person who touches it from outside (or getting in/ out of the vehicle) earths it ?

Hi Chris, thanks for your comment. When we refer to the chassis earth/ground connection, this is purely to ground the case to earth for if an event happened on the AC-side and the case were to go live. Having said that, the unit would fault and shut-down anyway if this were to occur, so normally minimal risk. We hope that helps Chris! Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi....having the inverter 300mm away from the battery is going to mess up the arrangement of my bank....is this absolutely critical?...any work arounds for tight spaces? what if i ran a temperature sensing fan, would that resolve the problem? thanks heaps

Thanks for watching! Generally speaking the inverter needs that space for ventilation and so its heat sink can dissipate the heat from the unit. If you can't achieve this air gap you can use a fan and potentially extra ventilation to help with the cooling of the unit.

I’m looking at changing my 1000 w inverter to a 2000w. In the the manual it says 0000 cable what size is that in mm ?
@REDARCElectronics2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! 0000 gauge cable measures in at 120mm, a lot of people will use 000 gauge (95mm) instead as it can be hard to find 0000 gauge.

@@REDARCElectronics I have a patriot camper and that comes with a 1000w inverter, those cables are only 25mm2. I have 120mm cable at work and seems huge for 2000w inverter

@@Chris-sf2cp The cable recommendations in the manual, generally speaking, are for continuous use. If you're only using the inverter for short periods at a time you can get away with a 000 or 00 cable on a 2000w inverter.
