Binging these as I've found a new addiction. Found a pair of boats on craigslist and picked them up cheap, neglected Zodiac R10 and a roached out Achilles soft bottom. Plan to customize the zodiac after it cleaned up so well. After watching these videos, I'm getting the nerve up to tear down and restore the Achilles as a tender for my pocket cruiser. Maybe develope a skill for my retirement job in a couple years.

With this and other Alfredo videos I have now completed three Nautica 14 retubes. Last one took a little less than 40 hrs working solo. They all turned out great. Two of them have a hard summer season working commercially under their belt and have no defects.

Hey you guys have a skill set that would transfer really well into pre-preg composite laminating. I am a boat builder "superyachts" but never worked on tubes so naturally I bought a rib that needs the tubes reattaching 😅 The tubes are pvc they are in good condition but hell the tapes have come loose all down the port side and both sides of the transom. Anyone reckon it's best to take them off completely and redo all the taping?? Also adding a second skin at the lower bow and undersides is a consideration but will it take to the older pvc??

I noticed many boat builders bond them and others like zodiac use a rail type system. What would be your choice if buying a new RIB ? Thank-you sir. James
