Nice video, I have the same d rings from Amazon, plus a similar looking seat that I’ve been meaning to put on my SUP for some time, just needed to gather the info about how to do it first, can you tell me, I’m a bit unsure about applying the glue, did you say you give it multiple coats, and if so do you wait until each coat gets tacky before applying the next coat……..?

You want to Re coat the glue when it is just past tacky. I used 2 coats except when I waited too long and had to add a 3 rd. Good luck on your project and thanks for watching

So far we have had no issues, the glue holds them nice and secure. We try and keep the roll as loose as we can to prevent any wear from occurring. Thanks for watching!

is full board air pressure(15psi) better to use than the partial 10psi, and how long did you wait between applying glue to the Ring and the board before marrying the 2 together or does it matter at all for the time between them, also noticed you didn't use a heat gun or hair dryer to activate the glue

basically the outside size of the board does't change much from 10-15 psi, I never run this board much over 12 because I don't need it to be that rigid.. You don't want to wait much longer than the point the glue is not sticky to touch, when you put the two sides together a chemical reaction occurs and they bond, no need to heat the contact cement. The cloth bit to stand on for my board covers the whole section , is there a way for me to cut into that to add those D rings ? , i noticed you cut the d rings instead of cutting unto the boards padded bit , but i dont know how else to get a seat

We chose to not cut bag the padding because we didn’t want to take a chance of cutting to deep into the board. Cutting the d rings created no problems and has worked well. If you must cut the foam keep in mind the glueing surface will need to be smooth. I’m sure it can be done but I would take my time as not to damage the outer vinyl on the board.

Now ditch that crappy seat and buy a $15 beach chair from Target. Absolutely amazing, the 3 inches off the board is more comfortable for your legs and the back is soooo much more supportive.
