How To Install A Stainless Steel Braided Transfer Tube

Is your Air Compressor Discharge (Transfer) Tube cracking or leaking? Here's a much better solution. A little more expensive initially but this heavy-duty, stainless steel braided Tube is flexible so heat and vibration won't crack it, causing leaks. A great work-around option!

Need a link to your website in the description. Would appreciate a few more details: - Are the flares JIC (37°) or plumbing (45°)? Will a flare fitting from the HW store plumbing department match up, or do I order a hydraulic fitting? - Diameter listed is tube ID? - Where do you measure the length? From the inner part of the flare fitting to the farthest end of the NPT fitting, or to where the NPT fitting starts, or what?

Eric - quite helpful video - I called and spoke with a tech adviser - she was asking me all kinds of questions about fittings and thread measurement / I just said thank you and hung up - the present tubing on my 80gal.2 stage campbell Hausfeld compressor is 1/2" this video made the part and install easy - it appears that 1/2" line you just installed on the video is exactly what I need - can you confirm and please tell me what I need to order from ACP

Thank you for the compliments and for watching! We'll be sure to pass it on to Eric. If you have a 1/2" OD tube, you can use any of the 1/2" stainless steel braided tubes on the below page. You'll just need to choose the length and if you need an adapter or not on the female flare swivel end. It's usually recommended to order the tube with a new check valve that has a 1/2" female NPT inlet (if yours doesn't already) that way you can easily install an adapter in the top of your check valve inlet if you need to. You sure can. If your transfer tube installs into your pilot valve now, you can install one of these tubes into it. These tubes have a female flare swivel on one end and standard male NPT on the opposite end. Thanks for the question!

Correct, we don't offer a 1" OD S.S. braided tube...the largest we'd offer is a 3/4" tube: mastertoolrepair.com/34-steel-braided-tube-12-27-lengths-p-13099.html I would see if you have a hose house locally, or check with Grainger or Fastenal as they may have a tube of this size available.

That line gets really hot, isn't there some type of rubber in the inside making it flexible and won't it melt and is it the same as a braided steel water line

Thank you for the question! The interior of the these hoses are made of flexible PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) and they are rated for 2000 PSI.

Could I order a tube from you all with different threads on each end? I had to replace my check valve and it fits the tank but I couldn't find one that fit the tank AND had threads to fit the current transfer tube.

All of our stainless steel braided transfer tubes come with the same types of fittings, I'm afraid. One end is a male NPT fitting and the other end is a female flare swivel connection. You can certainly find adapters to fit various other types of threads, typically these are available at a plumbing supply shop or hardware store.
