The Falltech Strut Anchor is a versatile anchorage connector designed to easily install into 1-5/8” wide strut substrate and travel horizontally, provided no obstructions.

An anchorage selected for a PFAS must have a strength able to sustain a static load applied in the direction permitted by the PFAS of at least:
• Two times the maximum arrest force permitted when certification exists, or
• 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) in the absence of certification.
Select an anchorage location carefully. Consider structural strength, obstructions in the fall path, and swing fall hazards. In certain situations, the qualified person can determine that a given structure is able to withstand the applied MAF of the PFAS with a safety factor
of at least two.
** Installation: **
FallTech® requires that the following steps be taken during each inspection prior to use of this product.
1. Insert on bracket half into the unistrut.
2. Insert the second half into the opposite side of the strut so that the two bracket halves are back-to-back.
3. Slide the bracket halves so that the center slots align.
4. Attach supplied carabiner through the slots in both bracket halves. Ensure the anchor is properly seated in the unistrut by tugging and shaking the carabiner.
5. Attach PFAS to the anchor carabiner with a compatible connector
*** NOTE:
Traditionally, this type of connection (snaphook-to-carabiner) has not been allowed, because of concerns with proper loading of connectors and unintentional disengagement. The latest edition of ANSI Z359.12-2019 has requirements for connectors that ensures a 2:1 safety factor in almost all possible loading scenarios. Additionally, the standard has revised the outright ban of these type of connections, stating in Section 7.1 that “snaphooks and carabiners shall not be connected to each other unless specifically designed for such connections.” The limited application as an overhead anchorage connector only and design of the strut anchor is intentional such that the connection of the personal fall arrest system (PFAS) to the Strut Anchor’s carabiner is intentional.
The FallTech Strut Channel Anchor is a single point mobile anchorage connector for a single personal fall arrest system (PFAS), consisting of two stainless steel bracket halves and a zinc plated alloy steel carabiner. See the user manual for more component description.
