I've been climbing for more than 30 years and I have to say that I do agree that this gear is smooth, comfortable and easy to climb with. Well thought out design. Love the blade type cleats where is slides around the pole while circling, and the convex shape are like 4 cleats cutting into the pole immediately replacing your 2 gaffs in the event of cut out. Also, the smooth and easy connection with the snap hook and adjuster eye is "golden". Access to release lever with the thumb is beautiful. Simple, elegant, effortless. Try it out.

What! No bottle opener? That seems like a critical miss. There should be a pro max option with a bottle opener.

I have one of these. I highly reccomend it. It is the Cadillac of fall restraint belts. Everyone in my climbing class was skeptical of it, but we all came to love the system and trust it. A lot of us prefer it over the Synch-lok. The cleats on this system will always catch you during a fall. (as long as the system is adjusted properly). Like i said, it is the Cadillac of the fall restraint belts. Ascending, descending, and circling the pole is an absolute dream with this thing. It almost feels like youre only climbing with a leather strap. Smoother (and in my opinion) a much better alternative to a Bucksqueeze or a Synch-Lok. Its also $300-$500 cheaper. Highly reccomended.

Hi Alejandro! Great question. This will depend on the concrete thickness. We recommend checking Figure 4 in the 7446’s instruction manual for reference. Link: falltech.com/product/7446/

What about welding burns on lanyards?
@dsrtvet82
@dsrtvet82 2 жыл бұрын
Welding burns are an issue and this product is not immune. The outer shell could get burned however, the braided kevlar cables on the inside are much more resistant to burns and welding slag adhering to them. A galvanized cable version is in the process of being released in the very near future using this same platform, but even cable can be arced/burned as well. Inspection is paramount to all fall protection products prior to use.

Serious question. How does a woman don it if it’s being placed right at their breast? And they’re big chested.
@FallTech
@FallTech 2 жыл бұрын
While we were developing a woman specific harness, the conclusion and feedback was that most women wear a sports bra and prefer the strap across their chest the same way that men wear their harness. This is also the safest for women. Regardless of large or small breasts, natural versus implants, women agreed this was the most comfortable despite the possibility of some discomfort. Another thing to consider is proper fitment. It is often the case where women who are tall or short, narrow or curvy have to go up or down a size depending on their body-type, which can cause unnecessary discomfort. We developed the FT-One FIT harness - the first woman specific harness with patent-pending adjustable sub-pelvic straps and horizontal leg straps that are away form the groin area, which allow women to have a proper sized and fitted harness regardless of their body-type. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask, and we'll do our best to respond quicker.

Traditionally, this type of connection (snaphook-to-carabiner) has not been allowed, because of concerns with proper loading of connectors and unintentional disengagement. The latest edition of ANSI Z359.12-2019 has requirements for connectors that ensures a 2:1 safety factor in almost all possible loading scenarios. Additionally, the standard has revised the outright ban of these type of connections, stating in Section 7.1 that “snaphooks and carabiners shall not be connected to each other unless specifically designed for such connections.” The limited application as an overhead anchorage connector only and design of the strut anchor is intentional such that the connection of the personal fall arrest system (PFAS) to the Strut Anchor’s carabiner is intentional.
