Shopping List for How to Install a Touchless Kitchen Faucet:
- Touchless kitchen faucet
- Small bucket, used to collect water
Tools List for How to Install a Touchless Kitchen Faucet:
- Basin wrench, for disconnecting water-supply lines from sink
- Screwdriver
- Cordless drill
Steps for How to Install a Touchless Kitchen Faucet:
1. Close the hot- and cold-water shutoff valves underneath the sink.
2. Use a basin wrench to disconnect both water-supply lines from the underside of the sink.
3. Twist off the hand sprayer from the spray hose, then pry off the retainer clip with a narrow screwdriver or a pocketknife.
4. Pull the sprayer base off of the spray hose, then push the hose down through the sink deck and into the cabinet below.
5. Drain the water from the spray hose into a bucket.
6. Pull out and discard the old faucet.
7. Place the new faucet's mounting plate and gasket onto the sink deck.
8. Set the faucet in place by feeding its hoses and data cable down through the hole in the mounting plate.
9. From below, slide the ends of the hoses and cable through the support bar and mounting washer.
10. Thread on the hex nut and tighten with the supplied wrench to lock the faucet to the sink.
11. Feed the soap dispenser through the old hand-sprayer hole in the sink deck, then tighten the mounting nut from below.
12. Push the retractable spray hose into the gooseneck faucet and down into the cabinet.
13. Fasten the battery-powered control box to the inside of the cabinet with two screws.
14. Plug the water-supply lines, power line, and data cable into the push-to-connect fittings along the top and bottom of the control box.
15. Install the control-box battery, then adjust the water-temperature setting.
16. Snap the counterbalance weight onto the hose that's connected to the retractable faucet spray head.
17. Open the shutoff valves, then test the faucet.

I'd put that faucet in a kitchen makeover of our house before we sold it. Have wished I could justify spending the money on the places I've lived in since. I loved that you could need to wash dirty hands or rinse off a dirty dish and only need to reach under the faucet head. It worked great for the 6-months or so that we had access to it before we moved out of the house.

Been using this faucet for 3years, worked well until a few weeks ago when the water would automatically turn itself On/Off! Replaced the batteries, same issue. 'Reset' the control box, same issue. Called Moen, and they are sending me a new control box, no questions asked about proof of purchase or any other b.s. Also, the 3 hole cover plate coating is already pretty worn out. Overall for the $120 I spent and service received from Moen I am satisfied, the touchless On/Off is a great feature(when it works) when you have your hands covered in food guck :)

Wow I’m so thankful that you included the wiring (so to speak) of the control box. It got me real confused the other day, when I was reading about touchless kitchen faucet on this healthykitchen101 kitchen website. One question though, is that if the faucet is in touchless mode, you can only change the water temp on the box which is in the under-cabinet? That sounds kind of exhausting, doesn’t it? Hope I’m wrong about this. Anyway, thanks for the video. You’re a live-saver.
@notafanboy250
@notafanboy250 4 жыл бұрын
You could find your perfect temperature and not have to worry about it...not too different from the regular way. The only problem is when the water in your hot water line gets cold and you have to wait. I guess that's where that top sensor would come into play so you could just let it run for a bit waiting for the hot water to catch up. I don't know...I'm not a big fan of these sensors seeing how I hate them when I go to public bathrooms.

What if the top sensor was buggy and detected you turning the water on, then didn't detect you trying to turn it off, or you just walked out of the room and forgot to shut it off? Does the top sensor keep the water turned on indefinitely or will it eventually automatically shut off? Can you manually move the handle into the "on" position and then back to "off" to override the sensor?

It's not worth buying, this faucet has at least 4 small aerators that easily get clogged and lose water pressure

Do not buy if you in Canada. Warranty are just 1 year and problem started after one year, after 2 years it started opening valve by itself. $700 faucet should last at least 10 years. Power supply should be provided and not batteries option which work only 1 month. I just checked how much is it (power adapter) and it's $150 !!!! Seriously? My worst experience with faucet.

shouldnt all wrenches be basin wrenches...? they seem so much more intuitive, you dont need as much lateral space to turn a bolt.
