Mine wasn’t leaking a lot at 120,000 miles because I changed pcv at 60,000 miles but then bought it for $47 oem plus gasket and needed to change motor mounts too so definitely got it changed I could have kept like that for another 40,000 miles since there wasn’t any oil in the spark plugs
@WhitehouseFarmVet Жыл бұрын
Yeah that's the big thing a little oil leaking from the cover is not a big deal but once it's leaking in your spark plugs it's time to change it! Thank you for watching!👍

Is this process similar on a 2017 rogue? I can’t find a single video or explanation anywhere online for replacing the valve cover on a gen 2 rogue.
@WhitehouseFarmVet Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what the 2017 engine bay looks like but I'm sure it's pretty similar they mainly change the looks on newer models not so much the setup, if you watched the video and it looks the same as your 2017 then I think you will be alright! but it's just a valve cover so it shouldn't be complicated they should be similar! Let me know how you make out and thank you for watching!👍

I’m doing my wife’s 2017 rogue sport now, working my way through it, it’s not too bad, main difference so far (just started an hour ago) is this intake on top of the coil packs needs to get dismantled and taken off first, do you still need help? I can try my best
@BIGBAGLEBOY Жыл бұрын
@@joshdimpley1698 I was hoping someone would chime in and say Nissan redesigned for the newer gen and it was more straight forward
@joshdimpley1698 Жыл бұрын
@@BIGBAGLEBOY yea if only. Call me crazy but my one conspiracy theory is that engineers don’t have to fix the things they make so they don’t pay much mind to how difficult the repair and replace is going to be..
@WhitehouseFarmVet Жыл бұрын
Lol Yeah! But honestly if it is the same it's not too bad just make sure you clean up the corners good and remove any oil for a good seal! Good luck buddy!👍

What did you torque motor mount bolts
@WhitehouseFarmVet11 ай бұрын
If you never did them before I would suggest a torque wrench, but if you have been working on vehicles before then you can use a impact to your feel it's just something doing many over time that you know when they are torqued down enough and the strength of your impact you are using, but the by the book way would be a torque wrench set at the vehicles specification, I hope this helps! Thank you for watching!#👍
@charleshines57003 ай бұрын
What really does that resonator do anyhow? Trying to search for it just brings up things that are exhaust related because a lot of exhausts have one. My 2017 Rogue Sport SV with the 2.0 has a resonator that could be mistaken by some for one of those useless plastic covers except that it has hoses. They don't have a PCV function because that is a separate part of the vehicle which by the way is super easy to change on these 4 cylinder engines if it ever needs to be done.
@WhitehouseFarmVet3 ай бұрын
Basically the Resonator reduces the sound produced by the engine! Thanks for watching!

You supported the engine under the oil pan??
@WhitehouseFarmVet3 ай бұрын
Yes under the thick part of the oil pan! You have to make sure you have a 2x4 or 2x6 is better to spread the weight, it's not taking the full weight of the engine like you think, if you didn't have the jack and 2x4 it would drop only a couple inches because the engine still has other supports but it would make it impossible to pull the bolts out that you need and obviously to put them back in aligned! Just jack it up enough that it is snug holding it in place, don't try to jack the engine up because then you will crush or brake your pan! Good luck and thanks for watching!

Bro an update how’s the Amazon New Yall aftermarket valve cover and gasket holding so far? is it leaking or burning any oil? Im planning in getting the same valve cover you installed from Amazon

No issues and I would definitely recommend the Nissan gasket Sealer, I use that stuff on everything now, no leaks!!! Thank you for watching and good luck!

I've gotten so use to working on nissans that I actually like them now lol I know exactly what's wrong with them and parts are dirt cheap, they are actually great little cars when they are maintained and Definitely good gas mileage, but don't get me wrong I still like to get in my GMC 2500 and tow my boat to the lake!🤣😂 thanks for watching buddy have a great summer!👍😊

I agree whitehousefarm. Nissan cars and SUV are really easy to work on and the parts are really affordable. I have a Rogue just like yours and a 2016 Sentra. @@WhitehouseFarmVet
