Gents what can I say ! I used all your stuff to do the LS /4L65 swap into my VG Ute …. The service I got from you guys was second to none and I wanna say thanks for all the help in getting the loom done asap and the standard of it ; and all your parts were FKN amazing ! The ugly parts were definitely the pipes getting them fitted was a nightmare lol but once you got it all in the right spot they fitted just right ! You don’t offer a Ute exhaust but again you guys let me out the back in the workshop so I could see your sedan with the exhaust on it and what I’d need to modify the tailpipe section to suit a Ute. The offer still stands if you wanna borrow my Ute or the tail pipe section off it to make a tail pipe that will suit a Ute or a wagon for your exhaust kits . About the only constructive criticism I can say is that the y piece hangs down a touch low with a lowered car . Stock ride height is gunna be fine but show me one stock height 2nd gen commodore lol ! Honestly you guys rock and again thanks for the stuff you do for our automotive industry in Australia!!! I’m not gunna put my details in here but I’m from Kerang , so you remember who I was if you wanna do the exhaust ! Cheers legends

The wiring is the easiest part of the whole deal ! Supply a engine loom to the lads at the rod shop and they modify it and send it back and literally plug it all back in to the engine and the 3 plugs near the fuse box and then the one plug in behind the dash . I got lazy and mounted the computer in the glove box as I don’t use it for anything else but I have a mate who mounted his on the firewall behind the glove box if that’s an option too , as for the exhaust this is the easiest part of the swap with their kit !!!!

The drivers side was easier to manipulate being a split pipe , don’t worry about the split connector till the motor is back on the mounts . Mine was with a 5L K frame and mounts so I don’t know if there is a height difference between the v6 to v8 mounts that will make a difference in fitting the pipes !

It's a Holden to start, it is just a base model but all of the special versions are worth a fortune and modifying them would tank their value, finding a rusty one isn't worth the work unless it sentimental or something, also it's spicing up an old car
@craigritchie193311 күн бұрын
You're right , The VN's were just a cheap car. However, there pretty light for their size compared to any of the factory LS powered cars., and they start at around less than 2900lb., The later VT LS1 cars weigh over 3400lbs and the VEs weigh over 3740lb so a LS powered cars will perform well . The VN's have a bit of a colt following these days, and they still have a live axle , the 5.0 litre V8 cars bring big money. Any factory V8 powered Holden is worth quite a lot of money these days

You need the left hand starter to clear the steering shaft . What you have to remember is that 3rd gen engine bays bs 2nd gen engine bays is there is nearly 8 inches more room in total so roughly 4 inches per side to fit an LS and all the other stuff in the bay and keep a right hand starter on it.

@@pentergraph just a quick one ….. have you used everything that the rod shop offers to mount up a LS into a second gen commodore ? wheres the fun in everything just fitting?....best part of a build is having ya mates around downing a few cold ones and trying to nut out solutions or under engineer things to make em fit or work.
