Great installation, beige is beautiful and love the lid feature. We have 3 of these in 2500L.

Thanks for the comment. Think this tank is actually Winter Grass colour (similar to beige though). Have some loose plans to do a full tank install, including filters, pumps, sterilisers, first flush diverter, leaf catcher, connections, etc... the whole nine yards, but haven't got around to it yet.

use compression fittings, they are very convenient
@GrantBurton4 ай бұрын
They are very convenient, especially if maintenance needs to be done at a later stage, or if pipes need to be disconnected, or the setup updated as time goes by, it makes for easy changes.

Hey Grant would like to know if you use a pump to keep pressure to your outlets when you are disconnected from the municipality water and if soo what's the size?
@GrantBurton Жыл бұрын
Hi Lunga... yes, we do use a pressure pump and filter system. If you would like to see the setup, there are another two videos, one about how I installed the system kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmXJfYhvfr-Eg7s and the other explaining how the system works kzbin.info/www/bejne/epbVnot4qa-AnKs We use a DAB JETCOM 82M. A while back we were using the JETCOM 102M but I decided to test out the 82M for a couple months.

Great work 💯. Thank God KZbin recommended me this video. So a water tank can freely pump water into the house without the tank being lifted high up? I find this safer than the tanks that are raised high up. Is there any extra thing you do to ensure that water still flow into the house effectively?
@GrantBurton6 ай бұрын
Hi, if you want tank water to run into the house with out using a pump, you'll need to raise the tank higher than the house so it can gravity feed. If the tank is at ground level (as in this video), you'll need to use a pump to pump it into the house. There are a few water and tank related videos I've made explaining these things... they are in this playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLb9ne7k5ibApazCHpN3kATHLi7kUyufk2 Hope this helps.

@@GrantBurton Thanks a lot. Yes it helps. I do have a pump and a borehole but was wondering if it can pump water into the house if installed. From your explanation, it means a pump can be used to pump water successful into the house without necessarily raising the tank up. I will still watch the suggested video to see how it works. Thanks. Just subscribed.
@GrantBurton6 ай бұрын
Absolutely... depending on your water flow and pressure needs, a 0.6kw or 0.75kw pump should be sufficient. Over the past year, we have been using a 0.6kw DAB pump and it's been sufficient.

I just bought a 260 litre one. I don’t want to connect it to any pipe. How can I use it?
@GrantBurton4 ай бұрын
Hi Shaz, I guess you could just install a Bib Tap onto the tank outlet and use it that way (you might need a reducing adapter to connect the tank outlet fitting to the tap).

Where did you get the L-adapter on the overflow that has the bug screen fitted too?
@GrantBurton Жыл бұрын
Hi Morrison, you should be able to buy it from any irrigation or hardware store that stocks these type of water fittings. The L-adapter and the bug screen are two fittings purchased separately and screwed together. In South Africa you should be able to get it at TURFAG, Spilhaus, Builders Warehouse, Co-Op or any other similar place.
@SnowyPe Жыл бұрын
Hi @@GrantBurton I purchased the L-Adapter at Thompson Bros Newton park.

How these huge tanks filled?
@GrantBurton2 жыл бұрын
Hi Muhammad, they are filled from rainwater runoff from our roof. It takes a while but they do eventually fill.

How do you keep it from freezing
@GrantBurton Жыл бұрын
Hi John, where we are in South Africa, it doesn’t get cold enough to freeze… so it’s luckily not something we have to worry about.

Hi, I have actually made some follow up install videos where I mention some of the stuff I’ve learned over time… they are all in this playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLb9ne7k5ibApazCHpN3kATHLi7kUyufk2&si=Hfkn0pYx86L5LW4J Hopefully these cover any questions. Thinking quickly though, I don’t recall any serious issues having come up, or at least none that were significant.
