Hi Grant, we want to get a Yoco for our small Country Club. Is there a facility on the machine that we can 'split' the bill for e.g. Food is R100 + Bar R200 and customer pays R300. So we can see what food and bar sales adds up ar the end of the day. Thanks Margie

Hi Margie, I've never tried it exactly how you are explaining but I don't think it works like that. I think you would need to add the separate menu items, in various categories / brands, to your Yoco Web App (previously Business Portal) or phone app and ring them up like that. At the end of the day (or over a custom date range), you could then view a report filtered by Products, Categories or Brands. You could also use the Yoco Point of Sale app on an iPad in conjunction with the Yoco Neo Touch.

Hi Laurent, thanks very much. I've never tested it with a Victron system (can't afford Victron unfortunately), but Andy from @OffGridGarageAustralia has done extensive testing with the JK BMS connected to his Victron system (48v system). I think you need a Cerbo GX to get the communication working between the JK BMS and the Victron System. You'll also need a VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS cable. I think you can also make this cable up yourself if you have the correct tools... Andy explains this pretty well in his videos... you'll just have to scroll through his video list and look for the JK related videos because he has a lot of useful and informative videos.

I have a cable supplied with the BMS, it is a bundle of 4 or 5 green wires connect all to a lug, and also a red and black wire. Other end has a connector, I think it fits in the left over port on the BMS, maybe for heating pad? We dont use this green wire-bundle?
@GrantBurton
@GrantBurton 8 күн бұрын
Can't say that I've seen the green wire bundle you are referring to, but if it connects into the heating port plug on the BMS at 02:52 (the plug next to where the balance leads plug into), it could be for the heating pad connections. Not sure why they would all be connected to a single lug though.

@@GrantBurton i have my first of 3 packs now live. Its on a Deye 12kw hybrid. We select lithium-00 right? In the Deye. In JK we select canbus deye protocol? So far this seems to work here now with 1 pack. Fw 15.26.
@GrantBurton
@GrantBurton 7 күн бұрын
Yes, On the Inverter select Lithium as battery type and Protocol should be 0. On the BMS, set CAN protocol to 001:Deye or 002:Pylon... both should work. I haven't used firmware 15.26 yet... Both my BMS's are on 15.27 at the moment. Also set BMS address to 0 (all 4 dip switches off) so that it is the master BMS. Make sure to check on the Li-BMS screen on the Inverter that the BMS is communicating with the Inverter and that all the limits that are set in the BMS are being reported correctly to the Inverter.

Will setting the maximum charging current in the BMS cause it to be sent to the inverter and either decrease or increase the charging current?
@GrantBurton
@GrantBurton 8 күн бұрын
Hi, using a SunSynk inverter... if the CAN communication is setup and working between the Inverter and the BMS, then yes, the charge current limit will be reported to the Inverter. The Inverter shouldn't exceed this maximum charging current. There is also a charge current limit (Charge Amps) that can be set on the Inverter... you'll see this at 06:36 The maximum charge current will be limited by whichever 'charge current limit' is lower. If the BMS charge current limit is lower than the limit set on the Inverter, the BMS will be the limiting factor. If the Inverters charge current limit is lower than the limit set in the BMS, then the Inverters setting will be the limiting factor. Have a look at this video for an example 👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXKoaZ5mq82Nhrc That's how it worked when I did the testing with the BMS and Inverter firmware in the test video above... Not sure if this will ever change in the future so it's probably best for everybody to do their own testing to confirm it still works like this in the future.

5:29 i have used grid import limit to completely eradicate grid usgae. I set import limiter on my sunsynk to 0watts. It worked, it stopped all grid import. But it messed with the mppts, i found it forced the mppt outputs to randomly drop to zero watts when the sun is shining and take 30-60seconds to recover. This bug might be specific to the 8kw sunsynk and using microinverter option for input from other inverters. Also using sunsynk batteries so no JK bms issues for me. 7:46 Sunsynk have an "activate" option in battery settings for deeply discharged batteries. That might initiate the force charge.

@GrantBurton
@GrantBurton 15 күн бұрын
Hi, I think the Tentco Wanderer Junior is 2.5 x 2.5m dome/bow tent and the Senior Wanderer is a 3.0 x 3.0m dome/bow tent. Being tall, I would go for the Senior (3.0 x 3.0m) tent… it’s only about 4kg, maybe 5kg heavier so overall, it’s not much heavier for the added space and same effort to put up and pack away. I would also consider getting the version with veranda… I think it’s the Senior Safari Bow Deluxe. It’s pretty handy to have that extra shade when sunny and a small amount of extra protection from the rain. There are a couple other camp videos if you are interested, in this playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLb9ne7k5ibAo-nPTsJgIiFPSUpGHRx5hx&si=hR1dAwVbkMMYi_t4 Are you wanting to do overnight / weekend type camping or longer term… 1 week plus?

A perfect fit also depends on the type of camping you’ll be doing, duration, and what the general weather conditions are likely to be in the areas you plan to camp (hot or cold)… Canvass tents are more sturdy than nylon / poly tents but are also much hotter inside as an example. There are many factors that can make up the perfect tent choice but what we found was to actually go camping with some friends, borrow a tent once or twice, get a feel for how the camping actually turns out, and what went as planned, and what didn’t turn out the way you thought it would… then make a decision on a tent from there… hope this helps.

The owner of this vehicle first tried to fault find by removing the wiper fuse and could hear a relay clicking... likely the wiper relay which meant the wipers were still being activated, even with the wiper stalk switch in the 'off' position. The plug for the wiper stalk switch was also unplugged to see if the wipers would stop... they did stop. By also unlatching the hood / bonnet, the wipers stopped running (safety feature so wipers turn off when the hood / bonnet is opened). All of these symptoms led them to believe it was the stalk switch that was faulty... and this was indeed the case. Replacing the switch unit fixed the problem.

@GrantBurton
@GrantBurton 15 күн бұрын
Hi, to my knowledge, there is tamper detection built into the Yoco card machines. When the machine detects possible unauthorised manipulation or attempted fraud, or if the case is opened or the chip reader is tampered with, it displays the message and the machine will no longer work, and you’ll need to contact Yoco directly for them to assist. I read this some time back so I hope I'm remembering it correctly, but according to their website, it can also trigger if the machine is dropped or experiences an electrical surge while charging. Maybe this 'protection mode' you mention is the same thing? Either way, I think the best is to contact Yoco directly as they should be able to see what is happening with your specific machine from their side. Hope this helps.

Not sure if you noticed but just below the link in the video description, I mention this… and that it’s been reduced R100 discount. You mention 2.2 litres of diesel for R100? I’m pretty sure the Diesel price is currently around R20 per litre? So R100 would be around 5 litres of diesel wouldn’t it? (I drive a petrol vehicle so don’t watch the diesel price that closely so I may be wrong). R100 discount might not seem like a lot but I recon any discount is welcome 😁 If you are looking at upgrading your card machine, possibly also consider the Yoco Neo Touch… otherwise if the Yoco Go is still working well, keep using it 😎 no need to spend additional money unless the features that the other card machines offer are needed.

Hi Judith, thanks for the comment. Thanks for sharing... it's much appreciated. There are a few camping related videos on the channel if you are interested... here is a link to the playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLb9ne7k5ibAo-nPTsJgIiFPSUpGHRx5hx

Howzit Grant, hope you are well. Would you happen to know how to replace the cabin filter on these hiluxes? Mine is a 2006 model and doesn't seem to have the release clip like all the videos I have seen on YT. When you remove the cubby the place where it should be is completely closed off. Do I need to remove the anything else?

Hi Benjamin, well thanks. Our Hilux also has its cabin air filter slot blanked off (no cover that clips off, but I can see where it should be)... so maybe there are models that aren't fitted with a cabin air filter.
