Living in Queensland Australia, the last mod we would ever even contemplate would be to block off an air vent! Our coldest winter days are still over 75 degrees F so pillar pods are the only option, or pressing that odometer button 4 times then 5 times if on a decent trip. But I enjoy the Rusty vids.
@darrenmicklewright20083 жыл бұрын
Did you know on the astra vxr there is actually a spare 1/8 hole in the side of the block right next to the oem temp sensor . It is a square headed bolt bolted in so you just simply screw out bolt and screw temp sensor straight in obviously using teflon first but a ideal place without having to cut pipes and you will get a more accurate reading and you can also see the temps warming up , this took me a long time to figure out so I hope it helps you in the future when installing temp gauges

@RemyFioretti3 ай бұрын
because every engine in a car create succion (venturi effect), so that makes negative pressure. on a NA car, you don't need jauge because it will not reach the ambiant air pressure at 1kpa (around 14psi). This value, in a boosted engine is set for a 0psi or 0bar in boost. that is the natural air pressure and anything above zero is in fact the turbine job creating more pressure than the ambiant one, like 0.7bar or like 8psi more than the the ambiant pressure. a value below zero to zero is the engine running with no boos effect, just the venturi : air intake that your chamber and stroke suck relative to the piston gowing to the top dead end (little effect) and the exhausted gas when the valve is open (majority of the effect)

It is not better to put the sensor to the heating pipe?
@RustyAutos5 жыл бұрын
No mate, as the thermostat will be open anyway if theres any problems if it doesnt move then u know the thermostat is sticking too

Rusty Autos you have right. But before the thermostat open, the water circulate in the heathing circle. And this water circulate cylinder head. But if anything is wrong, this water will be hot first.

Good stuff mate, I have some questions 😊 after you drained all the coolant out, how much is needed to refill to the correct level? Also I'm guessing to bleed, just leave cap off and put heating on max for 5mins? Cheers pal
@RustyAutos5 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, you fill it up till your coolant bottle is half full, run the car and allow the air to escape naturally whilst topping it up, then the correct level is displayed on the bottle itself
