Running the power from the cig lighter is great idea.. my question is where do you wire up the dimmer wire for when it’s a night and you turn you’re lights on?

Very good video as always! Just question did you you use the piggyback fuse adaptor as the live to the gauge and you earthed the gauge to the bolt? What size fuses did you use for the extender? Also could you wire two gauges to the same live? Seems easier then going to the cigarette lighter

Im confused. What wire do you connect at the piggy back fuse wire. The black one(earth) or the red on?

Red one dude, earth connects to the car bolt

What is the point of the gauge, what does it do? Just looks like a distraction to take your eyes off the road and have a crash and does nothing you really need.

It shows you if you have a boost issue...not many people realise when they do

Just be weary about using plastic T pieces, mine snapped off maybe due to heat in the bay or just pressure snapped it and threw my engine into limp mode. Bought a brass one afterwards and never had an issue.

Honestly mate to save on the hassle its well worth it for a couple of quid, Cause if your driving along and that T piece does snap then its just a pain to drive about in limp mode until you reset it lol!

I don’t get how you can buy a 4.7mm tube when my 4mm tube is too big for the back of the gauge and slides off.

Rusty Phat nice one I was told to t peice of the oil pressure switch to find out the oil temperature to the turbo what do you think your do it off, as people say you don't get the correct tempreture from the sump

Fitting a boost gauge shudnt affect fuel consumption, make sure you havnt left anything loose, and check the spark plugs

Just watched your vid on the piston 4 failure. I was wondering what causes piston 4 to go, because i read in your comments that even with a forged engine you can still blow piston 4.

Dani Nadir it is poor maintaince or misuse mate, the car was battered before me and ran on no oil for awhile aslong as u keep regular service up it will all be good and u don't put your foot down all the time

It's not lol if it's going to go it just will! ticking time bomb piston 4 doesn't get enough oil and it just goes boom I had mine for 2 years and it was fine 🤗 just luck of the draw I guess

Thanks. About timers they need a darken switch becouse it a little bit to brightened for night driving tho :) I think i can connect it with 12V led belt driver via remote control ;)

Just used your guide to fit an electronic gauge to my car and it shows -22 PSI on idling. Does that mean there’s a problem?

ATTiiCUS on idling it will say -22 when u put your foot down when your still it will go to 0, then when you are driving and hit boost it will hold at say 15 psi

Rusty Phat if you’ve got a dump valve on your car do you have to connect the gauge up any differently from how you’ve done it? Because my car sits -22 idle and can only just hit 11 psi and it’s left me scratching my head a bit.

ATTiiCUS my car is remapped mate so this is probably why it only goes to 11 psi for you, you have wired it up correct having a blow off shudnt affect it

does your car have stock software? It seems to be boosting quite high then if it has OEM software - over 15psi as far as i know, they should be boosting 13psi stable...

In my experience washer tubing will collapse on vacuum, giving an incorrect reading.

yellowbananas08 I've not had an issue yet it gives me around 17psi in 2 and 3 and rest is around 15, if u do get any I'll swap it for some silicone tubing :)

I know this is an old comment but this will not be the same as the VXR when it comes to clipping the pipes the 1.4t has one pipe on the right side of the engine I believe its red and black facebook BE group have 100s of posts about it, otherwise everything is exactly the same in this video as I used this to video to fit one to my BE (or any 1.4t Corsa/Astra 1.4s I believe)
