Thanks but I would like my winch up higher and solenoid in a cleaner spot. I'll just make my own mount with the roller in alignment to the spool. All the wires should have protective nylon loom . Keep it trouble free & fun!

I have two questions. At 5:54 you install a bracket with four bolts, from the winch to the frame. Is that part of the winch package or the mounting bracket package? Also I just bought a 2022 and through what I researched, there have been no design changes. Is it safe to assume this mounting bracket will work with mine? I want to use a Warn VRX 35. Your video was hands down perfect. Subscribing now.

The bracket I installed with the four bolts is provided in the mount kit and there are no changes to these machines all parts will work for the 2022 Check the Honda ATV website under accessories for the part numbers are used👍

Everything I use comes in the winter coat from Honda go to the Honda ATV website and check other accessories

Hey Max. Great video!! Yours is the second video I’ve seen now where the red “free spooling” knob is on the right side of the machine. My Honda/Warn winch was installed at the Honda dealer at the time of delivery and the red knob is on my left side. Does that mean that the dealer installed it upside down? My in-out switch works correctly. Is the line supposed to feed in from the top or the bottom of the spool? If mine is set up upside down, any negative impact? Thanks.

The way I have it set up is the proper way there are a few different winches that can we put on this machine though and they might go in a different direction or not on the one I installed the cable comes off the top of the spool but either way will be fine… just take a good look and make sure the winch line is not rubbing on any of the support bars for the winch or on the mount if it comes in contact with any other surface it will cause premature aware of the cable

@@Maxsmotoshop I took a look and not only is it mounted upside down but the line winches in from the bottom and not the top. As a result the cable is getting frayed due to the fact that the cable takes a sharp turn down after the rollers and is actually rubbing on the oval opening on the winch plate assembly. Calling the installing dealer tomorrow. Thanks ago for the info.

At around the 12:00 mark, does the winch wire just need to be slid into the rubber boot thing and taped? Does it need to be crimped?

Those are bullet connectors👍 they click in and out I put tape over them to keep moisture out And for a little extra security to make sure they can’t be ripped apart

Do you just leave the Black and Green wires from the Honda harness loose and unconnected up top after you connect the one black/white hot line from the winch control? I would think you should splice those in to the Black and Green on the winch control so they are connected to the winch relay down below?

I use Honda original accessories not KFI to find them find the part number go to the Honda formula website under accessories

I believe Honda has updated the winch in the last few months and it is slightly different but check the Honda ATV website under accessories to find the part numbers I will do an updated video as soon as I get my hands on one

Does that sub wire harness come with the kit? If not what's the part number. Just purchased the kits through Honda, don't see a sub harness. (2022 foreman 520)

How the bleep did you get the inner 15 mm carriage bolts into that damn bracket? I've tried needle nose pliers and nope!

Yeah it’s very tight but I can reach my hand in there and get the nuts started and then I use my 18 inches of extension with a universal to tighten them

Yeah it can be a little difficult the first few times make sure you get the plastic mounts underneath the front of the hood and then line up the top boats and slide them in place and then you’ll need a lift the whole bumper assembly up and push towards the rear of the machine to line up the rest of the mounts… The newer ones kits are slightly different than the one I installed in this video and will require a little bit different procedure once I get a chance I will make a video about them

Right, however I would not trust the Honda dealer(at least the one near me) to add anything to my unit. Mostly high school kids with no experience. Barely trusted them to put it together….stripped several bolts and scratched the paint….ugh.
