If anyone was stuck like me and getting error: alternative path is not absolute as it should be: opt/jdk-21.0.5+11/bin/java 500 It's because you forgot the / before opt where he says folder name -> sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/java java (slash should go here)[ Folder Name ]/bin/java [ Priority ] sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/java java /opt/jdk-21.0.5+11/bin/java 21 Hope this helps someone else who was a dum dum like me :D
