The air compressor in that spot is genius. Alot of people from sask and alberta spend alot of time out of the cities for either work or play. And having a quick tire plug kit and an air compressor is just about a must.

I installed air springs in my truck yesterday, and was just considering adding a way to tap into the compressor for random air fill needs. I hadn't considered putting a shut off valve between the bags and the manifold. Which would have limited the amount of pressure I could pump, as the 1000HD kit I used is limited to 50psi. Thanks to your video, I'll be able to build it out to use the full range the compressor is capable of. One thing I did think about is a locking air chuck. To be able to attach the hose, dial up the pressure, and let the compressor do it's thing while I go finish my coffee.

One day I could add a small tank, but for now this is how I am running it 😀

Great video and a Great idea. I go to the beach a good bit so being able to fill stuff for the kids would be wonderful. I will probably attach mine where I have instant access without opening the hood. Oh! I already have the air bags installed and I put my Schrader valve right next to the license plate for quick access.

Exactly - just connect to that and run the compressor.

I'm curious to know how durable those black lines will hold up in extreme cold/hot weather. Overall, awesome upgrades.

3 years later. No leaks or problems with these lines

Great Video Don! I have a 3.0 Duramax so I could not fit the compressor in the fender well. So I ended up putting it in the bed of the truck under the rail lip. Next is to add an air hose connection. I did not see a part number for the plastic air hose fitting into the manifold. The small one for the black hose. Thanks!

Thanks man. I had some parts lying around and went to a local supply store and bought various fittings for air line systems. Sorry I don’t have a part number for you

I have the 3.0 and had no problem fitting it in the same spot as don. 11:08

Don you already committed it, but a small 2-gallon tank would be an awesome addition.

Hi Don, great video. My question is how is the system holding up after 2 years? Maybe a product updates video. Each upgrade you did over the years and how its holding up. 30 seconds per update, give a thumbs up or down, or rate it out of 10?
@Donslife7 ай бұрын
Great idea 💡. As for your question. Held up 100% but I just took it out 2 months ago since I never used it and wanted to reclaim the room. Without a dedicated tank, it took a long time to fill a tire. A portable compressor is just easier.

Random question, how do you like your exhaust? It sounds great objectively, but I’m wondering if it is sometimes too loud. Like if you have to start it up at 6 am do you feel bad for you neighbors or not 😂😂. Thanks!
@Donslife3 жыл бұрын
I really like it but YES, I would feel bad performing a cold start at 6am. Overall I don't think it is too loud, but you need to be a fan of this kind of thing or you'd be better off with a Touring version.

Hi Don, i'm loving every video. Looking to get the air lift system exactly like you installed - Bags, compressor and on-board air manifold. Shopping to get the best price right now. Cheers from Ontario

That’s cool. I wanted it because when I tow 6000-7000 lbs it is much more stable and safer

at 10:58 of the video, what is the 90 degree metal bracket you used to attached the manifold block/airline hose connector? where did you get it, something homemade? and what type of screw/bolt did you use?
@Donslife2 жыл бұрын
I bought an ‘L’ shaped bracket and used a step drill bit to make a hole for the connector to fit through
@christopherblust39302 жыл бұрын
@@Donslife Awesome - went to Lowes and did the same thing. Drilled a 1/2" hole for the air hose adapter and used a couple of self-tape screws to screw down the L bracket. love the setup and instant air anywhere I go - travel trailer, utility trailer, KRK1000, truck...

Hey can the compressor overheat? I usually inflate 4 tires from 10psi - to -45psi
@Donslife2 жыл бұрын
It will be slow going though. I would consider adding an auxiliary tank if you need to do this often

Do you think it’s worth getting a 2020 GMC Sierra elevation 1500 right now all black x31 package for 48000?
@Donslife3 жыл бұрын
In the US or Canada? If the truck has everything you want and the mileage is low enough it might be reasonable. Seems a little high if thats US prices. Right now used vehicles are inflated but not much you can do
