How to install an amp and subs in 2012 Honda Accord

Installed a MTX amp and MTX subwoofer box in a 2012 Honda Accord for a coworker.

How do you like this MTX sub in the 2011 accord? I’m getting a 2 door 2011 accord coupe in a few days and I want to put a sub in it but I’m wondering if I’ll need to put like shock pads and tennis balls around the car to reduce the rattling, have you found that to be an issue at all?

Kilgore yes unless you have the hands free option. If you have the built in mics, they need to be disconnected.

Trim tool to pop up the pieces, you can use any grommet on the driver side of the firewall.

No. If you upgrade the “big 3 “ wiring, it’ll help, but you should be fine with your oem batt and alternator.

A basic full kit from Amazon. It’s best to run two amps. You can run a big 4ch run the mids off the front ch and the subs off the rear.

There’s different ways to hook up to a stock headunit. You can either borrow a signal off of your rear deck speakers or go thru the pain of taking out the head unit and get a signal from there. Either way it’s the same result if done right, this way is much easier tho

Yes. Only thing you need to watch out for is if your car has the factory mic. If you do you need to unplug it. It’ll cause feedback.

Well I followed your advice installing the remote wire accidentally grounded out to the car and now everything is acting weird be very careful installing your remote wire off that switch source I believe there is a better one that won't fry your components like mine just did now I have to figure out what the hell fried now my abs lights brake lights charge indicator lights cruise control now it won't even start

That was the dumbest place to jump the remote turn on lead. Sorry this happened to you. Always either use the fuse box itself or do what you're supposed to do and run it to the stereo remote turn on. I cringed when I saw him doing this. Somebody gonna do like he said and lose their car to a fire JS

No. Why would it? Power wire may be coming in through the firewall grommet at the pedal. Don’t really remember.
