Not bad for a very basic install!!! FYI going to the lighter good idea, but won't work on newer cars. If you're not going to the radio with remote wire the best thing is the fuse box ( the radio fuse ) they even make cheap fuse add ons that work really good. Personally i always run the remote wire with power and rca's by themselves. And for those that are using this to do their own! Ether make a amp rack, mount the amp to one none movable location, or if you really need to mount to the box. A clean install is a must, almost as important as quality wiring properly rated for the system
@jbmjbm323
@jbmjbm323 9 ай бұрын
I run my remote wire from the cigarette lighter socket. I have a stock radio and I jumped into the + wire going to the socket. I tried doing it from the fuse box but for some reason my 2018 Honda is a cónstant on from the fuse so I did it from the sócket like how this guy did it here but I did mine cleaner with no copper wires showing.
@davidschreckengost7959

@jbmjbm323 modern cars have constant power to radio and usually the lighter! The best choice in those circumstances is the ignition fuse! Will never have power when vehicle key is off! That way you can still use the fuse insert! With it being a factory stereo you have another option. Use the line output converter with signal sense.

This video seems really easy. Just to be clear, the factory speakers or if you have aftermarket speakers don't have to be wired into the amp? Correct. Just an rca cable that goes from the infotainment screen or the radio to the amp. From the amp to the sub you connect the required wire. After that's complete? Of course I know I will have to run the positive wire and the negative, after that the remote wire, Then its complete it?

After market radios have a remote wire. But yes you can install it on a wire that becomes hot once you turn on the car. Not to a constant hot, Just listening to your radio with your woofers hitting will drain your battery pretty fast. And if your battery is at the replacement time, you will need a new battery. Just fyi for those who don't know. Also Colton, I have the exact same woofers to put in my car. They do work pretty good!!

13:05 if you’re watching this video wiring your subs at this point do not just skip over it like he did. Watch a video and learn how to set your gain with a digital multimeter or if you don’t have one learn how to tell where to set gain or you will clip and wreck your subs real quick. Depends on the amplifier. How many channels and what you want to do. Subwoofer amplifiers are typically monoblocks so only have one channel. This means no right and left channels for doors and no fade front to back. Just one channel. Also doors work on different frequencies. You'd need a crossover but it's not realistic. A. Five six or four channel amp can be used for subs and doors. (1 channel sub, 4 channels doors) (2 bridged channels sub. 2 front channels doors.) (Bridged 2 chanels sub, 4 channels doors.)

They connect to the speakers positive and negative wire to an amp or rca converter because most all factory radios don't have rca ouputs.

I was expecting another shit video. All the prior ones the guys didnt know anything they were doing. You actually have a familiarity with installing. The most common beginner mistake is people who dont hide their wires or run through their door gap to the battery. This is a good video for beginners. Next step is a door amp and adding a cap 😉

This guy didn’t know much either, anyone can hook up a red wire to positive on battery and put a wire on a seat bolt for ground, doesn’t mean it’s good or the right way at all. The only decent thing about the video was that he hid wires. He says that the video is for educational purposes but the only thing I learned is that I should find someone who actually knows how to do things the right way.

is it ok if the red cable is super long . coz I did this once before but my plugs broke . so i stupidly took it all out . I bought a new kit and I have to red cables now . would it work ok having 2 of them. and dos the fuse need to be next to the battery or can it be beside the passenger seat
@jbmjbm323
@jbmjbm323 9 ай бұрын
The fuse holder next to the battery is for your protection. If you had the fuse next to the passenger seat, the long red wire running all the way to the seat might melt and come apart and if those copper wires touchs any ground, it wiill çause sparks and even maybe fíre. So that is why the fuse iholder is next to the battery so if there is any wire problems, the fuse will blow and no power would run through the red wire. Also having it super long will make the voltage drop and the amperage it can handle will drop as well.

Your wíring setup is F'ed up. Make sure none of your wires are not touching each other or touching anythng metal to the car. Especially the red power wire is not touching any ground wire or even touching any part of the amp or car part.

@ColtonRichter
@ColtonRichter 4 жыл бұрын
It must be where you hooked your remote wire, because if that doesn't get a power source then your power wire won't give your amp any juice. If you hooked up power directly means that power that you're using doesn't have a switch and juices it straight from your jump. Test around for more ignition sources
