Thank you for the animation! I've been trying to explain that concept but other videos only talk about it. I had not found one that actually demonstrated how moving the anchor to the end of the boat adjust the direction that the boat is pointing. Also, nice job making the inhstallation look effortless!

No. You stow it in the kayak while not using it.

I did not add any silicone when I put the screws in. Would it still be ok to take them out and then put silicone? or should I just leave the alone?

Why wouldn't you need a nut to hold the screw in place? Is that the purpose of the silicone?

No nut needed, just use the correct drill size so the hole doesn't get bigger than the screw. The purpose of the silicon is to attempt to keep as much water out as possible.

Can I turn my face to the current in 40 ft of water with this anchor system?

40 foot is a little deep for this anchor system. Keep in mind, you're anchor line must be 2x to 3x longer than your water depth. So you're talking about dropping 80' to 120' of anchor line. Now, IF you did want to manage that much anchor line, you COULD turn and hold your kayak in any direction you rig up.
