“Arms by your ears”. Too funny. A couple days ago I replaced the upholstery on the passenger seat. I can tell you the plastic attachment point at the bottom didn’t come apart nearly as easy as you made it look. What was worse is getting the new one clipped on. I work/stay in mine in much hotter areas than you. Decided early on that vinyl was too hot. Ordered replacement leather upholstery with a ventilated seat kit (but only for the drivers side). Started with the passenger seat since it would be the easier and faster side. Adding the armrest on the passenger was an afterthought. I’ll try to take a video reupholstering/adding the ventilation on the drivers. 2020 cargo van (America). Those hog rings (wire attachments) are a pain. I found it easier to clip them and reattach with zip ties. Thanks for your video.

Cheers pal extremely helpful, thanks for taking the time to upload!

The wires in the kit are hog rings, used for attaching the seat cover to the seat foam if you need to cut the old ones off for access.

Excellent job James, this is exactly what I was hoping to do with the passenger's seat on my 2022 Ford Transit. Now the hunt begins for something that will fit. Thanks again

Mate what an awesome job. I'll keep that in mind if/ when I ever get the chance to do a van. Next year hopefully but good is a brilliant tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to put that together :)

Thank you! I was hoping this was possible to do without buying a new seat just for arm rests! Hopefully I can find a kit to fit my van!

Hi James Mike here from County Durham. I followed your build and did a simple build inspired by your project. I dont have as many skills as yourself but i kept it simple and is very much an ongoing project. Main thing is i enjoy the van and use it :) Thanks for the video, i am considering a swivel base for the passenger seat and some arms may well be a cracking adddition. Cheers Mike

Wonder if this install is possible on car seats 🤔
@LensOfJamesАй бұрын
Yes you could install it in a car and not just a van :)

Hi. Thinking of doing the same in my nv 200, one question though as I dont see it clearly in the video. Are they long enough so you can actually rest your elbows on them and steer the car at the same time?
@LensOfJames3 ай бұрын
Hi, yes they're long enough - I rest my elbow on it when I drive :)

I don't know - best to check the car you'll be working on before buying anything
