How to install an ATI Super Damper on a Corvette (C5 1997-2004) [Harmonic Balancer install]

I ended up using some thin rope and looped it through the balancer itself and tied it super tight onto the car itself to stop the crank from spinning while tightening the bolt on the new balancer I didn’t wanna risk using a pry bar or screw driver to wedge in.

Why did you use gasket maker on the keyed groove? I have a 2000 C5 that’s gonna need a damper pretty soon.

I did that because my crank isn't keyed. It's best to put some high temp gasket maker in place of where the key should be in this situation. However yours maybe keyed and in that case you wouldn't apply any gasket maker to the balancer. Good luck with yours! What’s the part number for the one you used

ATI-917266 is the Balancer ARP-234-2503 is the bolt

I see a lot of different ones on here is yours the base or the zo6 mine is the base

How did you torque the bolt without the crank turning ?

Used a pry bar to hold it in place, same as removing the bolt. The crossmember was helpful here
