Thanks for your video. I need to ask a question. I installed a door closer on a metal door at my home but I found a problem with the air from the outside or inside is the air go by Force inside the home door find resistance add not closing and in case there is no air the door is closing fast and I think it will be damaged slightly😢 can you help me to solve this issue Also I need to know how to reset the settings of door closer thanks in advance

Thanks for your comment. You could try adjusting screw 1 when the air resistance is low to decrease the speed. Then see if the door is able to close properly when there is air resistance. You may also need to adjust screw 2 to increase the latching force since the door will be moving more slowly. There is no way to reset the settings; you just have to adjust the screws until the door is balanced and closes as desired.

Attention! The 90 degree angle is incorrect! Such an angle should not be at the lever, but at the thrust!

Hi Wladned, thanks for your comment - what is the reasoning for this? As you will see in the video the 90° angle works for us (and has continued to for the last 4 years).

@@co-macgroup1683 Hello! I agree, closers can work normally even with deviations from the recommended installation parameters. In this case, if the LEVER is installed perpendicular to the door, then it does not press the door. And when a ROD is installed perpendicular to the door, to connect with it, the lever must be slightly deflected towards the thrust, some force arises in the closer, and by the amount of this effort, the closer PRESSES the door after closing. Thank you

@@wladned in addition to your point (clearly explained, I must say), I believe that in the resting position the rod should not pull sideways on the door frame. Doors remain closed 99% of the time, and a constant sideways shear force weakens the mount (especially if the closer arm is slightly bent). Furthermore, opening the door (when the force is maximum) makes the rod pull sideways on the shoe mount. Thus, the adjustable rod should be perpendicular to the door frame.

Follow the manufacturers instructions. In my unit Premiere Lock UL series) there are instructions to preload the closer arm then attach to the mount (forearms) arm with the mount arm perpendicular to the door frame.

Hi, I have a question, I am in Nz, what is the difference between installing it with a bracket or without ? It says in the vid for internal mounting but what is the real use out of it ? Most home doors are made of weak cardboard so is it not the best option for those doors? What is it really for if the other mounting way is the best way to go for all doors?
@co-macgroup16834 жыл бұрын
Hi NZ Kiwi, it depends on what way your door is swinging. If the door is opening out and you want the closer on the inside, you use the bracket. If the door is opening out and you want the closer on the outside you don't use the bracket. As shown in the video the closer is adjustable so it should be fine for most wood doors. I hope this answers your question.
1.59 pictures the long side of the arm, the moving part, is on the left side and at the beginning of the installation on the right side

Hello...Is this the same as a fire door because in my apartment the door continues to slam in the hallway in the maintenance man doesn't seem to know how to quiet it😑
@co-macgroup1683 Жыл бұрын
Hello, these can be used on fire doors. On most there are two screws to adjust - one is closing speed and then the other is latching speed. Hopefully he can adjust these to make it quieter
