Had mine come without the band, I used a ratchet strap put it on get it snugged up and then just cranked it down, If this happens make sure to have the crank in the middle out of the way and then ratchet it down checking to get the right length. then slip it on. Bob's your uncle.... Great video though thanks!

Thanks very much for the feedback, I appreciate it and sorry to hear that you had that challenge with the struts. At least it worked out for you finally and hopefully the soft top assist is working out well. We love it on ours. Makes a huge difference!

Chances are that you had the V2 model! If so, then it came without bandstraps and required you to slightly lift up on the soft top to align the mating parts. Also, keep in mind that the struts on the V2 (second gen) are supposed to be positioned with the slim tube down and thicker tube up (the exact opposite of the V1 (first gen) model represented in this video! IAG Uploaded 2 videos on installation representing each versions.

CUPRA! As a subscriber, i really enjoy your content! You present a very clear, no-nonsense, presentation with pro style production values! With that said, i have a question/issue that has been bugging me for a few months! Is it possible that you installed the upper ball brackets on backwards? I have viewed both of IAG’s installation videos (representing versions 1 & 2) and they both show the ball portion of the upper bracket facing towards the exterior of the vehicle which indicates (to me) that yours are installed on the wrong sides. I know that V2 didn’t exist when this video was made, and most people have no idea that there was more than one version thus making this video a potential error causing input. Maybe you have a first gen, pre-release prototype that required this method of installation. Also, it might be a good idea to place the version (V1) in the title description since most people watching this vid at this point already have V2 or later which requires a completely different installation technique! Just my 2 cents… Thanks for your time…

Hey Bacnow, thank you for the feedback and the suggestion. You make a good point and I will definitely adjust the title to include 'V1 sold Prior to 4/29/22' in the description, as that does make sense. Thank you for that. As for the installation, I just had a re-watch of the IAG installation video of the EZ-Lift Soft Top Assist System (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXuwXpprl7qHpLc) (March 25, 2022) and at the 1 minute mark, you can see the upper ball joint and it is pointing towards the interior of the vehicle, and not the exterior. This is how I have mine set up - pointing to the interior of the vehicle at 2:23. This mirrors the positioning of the upper ball joints in the IAG video - bear in mind that I had one of the very first sets of struts that were released. At the two minute, 10 second mark of the IAG video above, you can see the replacement brackets now have the ball joint facing the exterior of the vehicle. When the issue arose, if I recall correctly, IAG edited the video to give us this version (kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKC6pqikrJiMY9E) (April 10, 2022) which you correctly state, has the ball joints facing the exterior of the vehicle. I have the V2 kit installed now, and the ball joints also face the exterior of the vehicle now, but at the time of recording this video (March 11), we were 2 weeks into the release of the brand new product which had the ball joints facing the interior of the vehicle, so I'll definitely update the title, and thanks for bringing it to my attention, I appreciate it! Thank you again for being a subscriber, and for the great attention to detail and feedback!

Can u pull the top all the way down with this kit?
@CUPRADESIGN2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, that is what this kit is designed for, not only can you put it all the way down, but it helps you lift the top back up from the fully open position a lot easier. In my latest video that talks about the IAG Performance EZ-Lift system, you can see that I have the top all the way back and show how the struts lay down when the top is back. They are actually working on a fix for the issue I note in the video, and ALL new kits will have the fix (new brackets) contained within. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4XPdIeNebaVaqM
