Good video but I would have added that when installing in a boat on a trailer, you would first have to make sure the boat is level.

I realize this video is four years old now, but I’d like to know why the manual for these transducers (SN2010) say to use 2.4 oz or 71ml of antifreeze in these bases? Surely the installer here used more than that suggestion AND I just had a technical support rep from Faria tell me to use more than that. What’s the deal?

With the in hull transducer, is it a one time fill with the anti freeze, or is it something you need to constantly fill when it gets low?
@R1Kyle4 жыл бұрын
It should not get low but if it leaks for any reason you need to add more fluid so there is no air in there.

Great tutorial but one thing, never use petroleum jelly on O rings. Some rings will hold up, most will decay. You should use plumbers silicone lube.
@jonsmith76672 жыл бұрын
you have your some and most mixed up, Vaseline will not hurt any rubber or Viton material ( the most common O-rings) I think you would be hard pressed to find very many O-rings that petroleum jelly will hurt. Your recommendation of a di-electric silicone grease is a good one though you are almost always safe to use that stuff.
@SOLDOZER Жыл бұрын
Ummmm no use dielectric grease as he said. Thats what its for.

So, at what point do you level the boat if you're wanting the transducer to be leveled forward to aft and port to starboard. Asking for a friend. Thanks, Rickie

In hull transducers cannot be used on a wooden hull. You'll have to go thru-hull or transom mount

Never petroleum jelly on rubber! It will absolutely eat away at it over time. Stick to silicone based lubricants - moltkote is my personal favorite. But, other than that, great video. Thanks!

Can you please confirm in hull traduced will be as good as regular transducer for fish finder .. I. Really want to instal it but hesitant.. will it work?
@gemecomarineaccessoriesllc44693 жыл бұрын
Assuming that the location of the transducer is in a spot on the hull where there are no air bubbles in the fiberglass, yes. The only loss you might incur would be a the far reaches of the transducer's capabilities.

No. Check your manufacturer's specs for transducers compatible with your unit. This is for a sonar unit. GPS is different.
