Other videos don't even mention what the parts are called so non tech amateurs like me cant even order new parts because we dont know the correct terminology. " i want the thingummyjig that hold the seat part to the downtube" bamboozles some bike shop guys.

I didn't think I could fit the saddle in the bracket with just loosened bolts, so I ended up completely removing the bolts, adding the saddle in the bracket, and trying to screw the bolts back in without losing any parts. It was a challenge for someone as maladroit as me, but I eventually got it! ;-) Don't completely remove the bolts, unless you just find it impossible to put the new saddle in the bracket otherwise. It'll make it easier.

In loosening the bolts should I loosen the bolt behind the saddle first? Because when I loosened the bolt in front of the seatpost I heard a snap and when I checked ths threads there were a few metal shavings.

I've got a specialised roll and it's at max adjustment with the seat still too far up. Can't adjust it down enough :'(

hey, I somehow popped off the top part of my saddle clamp when attempting this. I can’t seem to get it to pop back on to bite into the saddle rails. any tips? can’t see a brand name but it’s a 2-bolt clamp with a slightly different design than shown here. thanks in advance for helping this beginner!

Biggie 1 - Make sure it’s assembled so that the two parts of the clamp make () a little cup for the rails of your saddle. What I’d thought was the top part of mine actually sat on the bottom ; )

It's the middle or rear third of the saddle that is generally level. On a curved saddle like Alliante, the back edge is supposed to be higher than the nose.

Yep depends on the saddle, but middle third is a good spot to start with.

Screws dont go into bolts, nuts screw on to screws or bolts. Screws have threads machined to just under the head, bolts have threads that stop before the head and therefore have a plain diameter section between the end of the thread and the head.
