I messed up on the scaling at 3:45 and stated 333 (20,000/60). It should have been 342. 10,000*60/1750 = 342 pulses per revolution

Are you any closer to the positioning video? I’m super intrigued about it after looking at the prices of servos and servo controllers

Hey Tim, did you ever create the positioning videos involving the powerflex 5 series?

No, I don't have a good motor/encoder setup, but with that new Powerflex 527, I'm very tempted.

Hey Tim, I love the videos and I have recently built a control panel that feeds rolls of various materials through a pinch roll and cuts them at a custom length using a micro 820 with a hsc card for an encoder to get the sheet length, a pf525 and a hmi using nothing more then your videos and some help from a family member. I had a some trouble knowing the order to do stuff and the whole process so could you make a video about how you look at a job, what you do and why you do it and your whole process?

That is impressing Gabriel! I really like this idea and think it would really help people out. My only worry is there are a lot of different ways to go about it, I would have to think about how to present it.

Hi Tim, could u please tell me, what is the procedure, " the motor was running with power flex 750 and encoder, Rexroth 317207, and the motor was burned, " we replace the motor with exactly one but the encoder has a different part number encoder number Rexroth 330889 ( looks like same). NOW WE HAVE AN ENCODER FAULT ALARM. please let me now what to do. should i set the parameter again? best regards
@TimWilborne Жыл бұрын
It is a different part number for a reason. Just because it looks the same doesn't mean it will work. Things that come to mind are pulses per revolution and output type.

Hi Tim, a question. I have a PowerFlex 755 Frame 2 Drive. In it I have a 20-750-UFB-1 card, the manual says that I should use 20-750-S1 but I only have a 20-750-S. Is it possible to use 20-750-S?

I'm not sure, I'm not that familiar with STO on the 755.

Hello Tim, How are you, hope you are fine during these days. I need a little help as i am beginner in rslogix5. in my program i have data file f8:xx, it show usage 'X' when i click on usage tab, but when i try to find it with 'find all' it shows nothing. kindly help it would be so kind.
@TimWilborne4 жыл бұрын
Look for something like a COP command that could work too multiple fields. So maybe the destination is F8:0 with a length of 5. While F8:3 won't be shown in the ladder program, it can be written to same will show an X in the usage.

so in this application the encoder controls the speed of the vsd?.....i haven't come across an application but is there application you would know?...its a first for me..lol
@TimWilborne4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ricco. It could be that an external encoder regulates the drive speed, which would be a following application. Also sometimes you need to regulate motor speed very precisely or even do some basic motion control with it.

If you slide the top cover forward first it comes apart with much less effort. If you finish the playlist (show positioning and control with a Micro850) then make the playlist one video, I would throw you some cash for that.
@TimWilborne4 жыл бұрын
Well don't I feel silly, you are right. That cover slides forward and it falls off. Positioning is coming, just running behind. Thanks for the tip John!
