In this video, we’ll show you how to test your dashcam’s Driver Monitoring System (DMS) using the WiFiKit app, even if you're indoors or the vehicle is stationary. Proper DMS testing ensures your dashcam can accurately monitor driver behavior and enhance road safety.
What's Inside:
Connecting to WiFiKit:
Open WiFiKit and connect to the device hotspot to access the dashboard.
Tap on Debug at the bottom and then on DMS calibration to complete the setup.
DMS Testing:
After calibration, go back and tap on DMS testing to access the live video feed.
If testing in a vehicle, sit in your usual driving posture, ensuring your head appears in the reference frame with no obstructions.
Try actions like closing your eyes, using your phone, or smoking to trigger alerts.
Indoor Testing Tips:
Simulate driving by sitting at a table and placing the DMS camera at an angle less than 30°.
Ensure your face is visible in the reference frame without any objects blocking the view.
Perform the same actions to trigger alerts and check the results.
Real-Life Testing:
While indoor testing is useful, it’s recommended to perform real-life testing on the road to ensure accuracy.
