Hey guys. John here with realtruck.com. Today I'm going to show you how to install the AVS In-Channel Vent Visors on this 2014 GMC Sierra. This kit comes with everything we need to put these on the truck. We have our front and rear visors. We also have our Scotch-Brite scuffing pad and our alcohol prep pads and I'll show you what those are for here in a minute. And also, our instruction sheet. We've got our front visor in hand. The first thing we want to do is to test fit our visor to make sure that we're getting it lined up in the right place. We know where it's going to go. We're going to put this in, make sure it fits like it should. And as you can see, that's a perfect fit. So we'll pull it back out of there and we're going to prep the surface. First thing we're going to do is we're going to take our Scotch-Brite scuffing pad and what we want to do is take this inside the channel where we're going to be applying our visor and just scuff it up. And that's just to take any dirt or wax or soaps or whatever off of there so that way we get a better sticking.
The next thing that we're going to do is use our alcohol prep pad and all the area that we just used the Scotch-Brite pad on, we're going to take our alcohol pad and we're going to clean all the residue and stuff off. Alright. One of the neat things about these AVS Lund Visors are that they're not a tape-on, they're an in-channel, but they do have the tape-on tabs throughout the visor. That helps it to stick into the window so you don't have to worry about it flying off, coming down the road or anything. So what we want to do is we want to peel the protective backing off of the tape. We can go ahead and put this visor into the window channel.
And the way we're going to do that is we're just going to start up in the front. Slide it in place. Put it in the back and then slide it up. And then we want to push up on it firmly and make sure that it seats up into the channel really well. Now that we've got our visor in place, we're going to roll the window up to make sure that there's no interference from the visor with our window. And that'll also let us know we've got it installed correctly. What we're going to do is we're going to have to leave that window up for at least 72 hours and that allows the adhesion material time to stick to the channel to help keep these things in place. 866-554-0581 Free shipping for orders over $100!
