I have seen some people using metal edging for the trim. Is it not necessary for this mosaic tile ?
@chui198014 ай бұрын
Not to burst your bubble but it looks great. The problem I have is that it is backwards. The flat cut of the tiles is supposed to land on the granite or counter top. The missing hexagons in every sheet is supposed to go to the top since you can see it. I am just saying. Other than that, I feel guilty. I love it.

@jacklynnmjackson23832 жыл бұрын
@@InsanelyGhostly how do you know that
@Christian-cw9mp Жыл бұрын
When you grout, you do a section, and then wipe with a damp sponge in one direction, and one pass, without putting pressure. You dip the sponge in the water and squeeze all the water out, then wipe once in one direction and repeat. If you leave any water in that sponge, it will affect the grout and color and may dig out your grout. This is a first cleaning as you go. Once the grout is hard according to directions, you can use a more wet sponge. You usually do a 3' x 3' area and then do this. In this case, you could do 4' of backsplash, wipe, then 4', then wipe, repeat. This just removes the excess, not the haze.

@aaronslagman42113 жыл бұрын
What sized notched Trowell would you recommend for those tiles?
@martinwalker25013 жыл бұрын
I can’t tell for sure, but that looks like a 3/8 trowell. You want enough mortar on the wall so that the tiles stick, but not too much that it bleeds through the space in the mosaics. When it does that you’ll have to go through and clean it out so that you have clear grout lines. Hope that helps.
@douglaswells27394 жыл бұрын
Nice work. Is it easier to do the bottom missing tiles at the end or to cut a straight line across a section with the tile saw and install together?
@AZIMBAYO14 жыл бұрын
Its easier to do it how i did it in the video. Because both ways you have to cut the tile. And less tiles get wasted

@RobertLinthicum not on marble mosaics. All the thinset bleeds through the joints and you spend hours with a toothpick or tile spacer scraping out all the thinset before you can grout. 3/16 x 1/4 v-notched is the correct trowel for all your marble mosaics.
