There’s a simple and quick trick to finding the exact angles to cut. Take 2 small pieces of baseboard, about 10” long, and cut a 45° or 22° angle on each end of the pieces (a left & a right) for an inside and outside corner and take them over to your corner and see how it fits. If it’s open on the face, then your cut angle is more than 45°, etc. If it’s closed on the face, then your cut angle needs to be less than 45°, etc. Adjust accordingly and use the pieces for all of your corners and leave the guesswork out. It’ll save you time and trouble.

I have such a hard time with cutting angles. My neighbor is 79 years old and has worked in flooring most of his life and bless his soul, he tries his best to teach me but I just don’t understand, it makes no sense to me. Lol seriously no sense

That's the best advice you'll get for inside miters. Unless you're just gapping for speed, the paint crew can deal with the canyons you leave behind. For proper bb installation this is the way to go.

find all the studs -.- there's a bottom plate most of the time.

Use 2” nails and shoot them in at opposing angles. Hitting studs is not necessary. Don’t forget to caulk the top edge.

Why find the studs? Can't you just nail to the bottom plate?

Not if it’s covered or the finished floor is higher, I like recommending studs to have two spots for nails to keep the baseboard flush with the finished wall

Was thinking the same thing. Interesting

@@HomeRepairTutor its 1 1/2 I've never ran into a situation where the flooring was 1 1/2 taller then the bottom plate. I've seen some crazy floated floors too but not that bad. only situation I can see this happening is when people fill in sunken living rooms.

Hold that Franklin upside down to mark the studs easier
