How to install best vr30 intakes

Today is the day where I show you guys a “cheap” way to get the best sounding intakes on a q50/q60/Z
I ran this set up 2 years ago on my q50 all I do is find after market turbo inlets on Facebook marketplace or you can get brand new ones from a company that makes them. Get yourself these air intake filters!

Get some Amazon intake heat shields. Lowered the temperature of open custom intakes from 114 to 83 at 65 degrees F with 15 minutes of driving. The oem is 70 something I forgot but ofc it’s designed to be like that. It’s a tight fit but you can get it in with a slight push

Yo good looks man! I just ordered the bms inlets some blue carbonfiber kyostar filters and kyostar carbon fiber heat shields! I spent $300 total so it was cheaper than any of the similar style intake kits AND I got to pick the colors and quality of my filter 👍

@@kristohockey Amazon for filters and heat shield!! Just make sure you get 3" or , 76mm filters. The kyostar set up I did took some adjusting to get right but it fits snug!

Those look like Z1 inlets, and will run $200 Brand new, but you can get the BMS for $100.

I got mine brand new for $80 from someone but yes agreed any turbo inlets are good for this setup!

@drivermod1 That's a deal! Facebook Marketplace and forums are attracting more and more scammers, so I have started to just pay the cost lol. I built my own intake the same way. Even used the red version of the same filters. When I saw your video, I was like, thank God I chose red and not blue. We have the same color car 🤣. You can definitely feel and hear the difference. Worth every penny.

This is the same concept I believe he uses bigger maf housing but ofcourse that comes with the price. This is a quick cheap setup that is near same! (In my opinion)

You can find them on eBay, aliexpress and Ofcourse Facebook marketplace! I personally got these from a friend that had a full set and just sold me the inlets!

Cold air intake to hot air intake. Its for sound though. Not performance....

Performance in acceleration is better we are not sure about top end

@@drivermod1 the butt dyno going crazy. But in all seriousness your IATs are higher with this, the car will just pull more timing, however since it's turbo you have an intercooler so CAT temps are more important. I'd use something like tq pro to see stock temps vs "cold air". Just sharing my $0.02

This is similar to boosted 6 intakes and some tuners recommend them if you want to get intakes.

@@6spddanthat’s the case at low speeds when there isn’t enough air coming in, even at low speeds look at racebox boosted 6 intakes on the dyno. Numbers can be seen even with the hot temperature.

This is NOT a NA engine. We have a heatexchanger and intercoolers. This only matters in stand still traffic. This will outperform the stock airbox in any other situation.

3.7 I’d personally recommend getting the mishimoto silicones and k&n drop in filters Or On eBay getting custom maf housing and slapping the same filters on with the silicones would be great as well! Very similar to this setup just no spool noise ofcourse due to you not having turbos
