Wow, this is the OLD, pre plywood way to build! I haven’t seen this since I was a kid, thanks for the refresher!

Wow! Great video. Very clear explanations and great technique. I also appreciate that the only talking was for the project and no useless drivel. ;)

I wouldn't call this a shed, it's too beautiful!

Great job. Solid shed. You state the board is 1 x 10 trim board. But you never mention what kind of wood it is. Is this finish board pine, redwoord, cedar? Is it exterior treated in some way other than primer? What is the finish on the outer board, smooth? Rough? Somewhere in between?

Thank you for your video. Are those exterior boards?

No drip edge over horizontal trim. No flashing. I mean...it's a shed but water is just going to POUR in around some of those horizontal trim pieces and windows.

Is it ok to use cdx sheathing for board and batten if it's caulked and painted?

what kind of boards are you using? Is plywood or LP smart siding and option as well? Also dont you need any kind of sheathing behind siding?

hello. what do you think about installing the batten direclty on plywood, instead of using board ? It will be ok ?
@davidrobinson55814 жыл бұрын
boardandbattensiding yes that will be ok. I used that on one previous house build. And I’m currently doing the same on a tiny house build.

The siding install is fine, but there's no weather proofing membrane to keep the wood protected. A mistake in my opinion.
@jimmybob73642 жыл бұрын
Wrong. Enjoy your split boards. You only need one nail in the center of the boards on every perlin support. This allows expand and contracting without splitting.

Lol don't know who taught you, but you don't leave the boards with a gap you butt them up then put your strip down
@melissagreer64895 жыл бұрын
You have to leave gap for expansion and contraction in wood otherwise those battens will just pop off when the boards expand. They make this in fiber cement where you wouldnt have to leave much gap though.. He is correct though, you were taught wrong is what it sounds like.
