I have 2 sets on my boat trailer, with boat pole guides. Reason, guide poles greatly help with deep water ramps. The 2nd set is just in front of trailer wheel which is awesome for centering boat in all conditions..... current, wind, waves. The mid side bunkers never go into the water, they have a angle/wedge so they don't catch but allow the boat to sit nicely. They're extremely helpful with boat staying centered and bow roller is never missed. Making SOLO launch and recovery EASY as hell.

Unfortunately, I’m a little slow on the uptake😊. Why did you need to add a 2X4 below the U-bolt? The instructions I have do not show an added 2X4. I’m going to add it based on your video and the similar width of our trailers. Is it to make the U-bolt more secure? Thanks for the video!

Nope totally get it! I should of explained a little better why I added the 2x4s and yes you are correct to make the u bolts more secure!!!! There was just to much gap and I didn't want to take the chance of the supports slipping one way or another with the weight of the boat touching them as you load and unload! When you get them you will notice the gap it's not much but enough I didn't want to chance them moving plus the bolts would of stuck up towards the boat a little higher then I felt comfortable lol although those could always be trimmed down and not sticking up so far! Great question though!! If you want you can always email me too and I can send you 360 degree pictures of how mine are! I have not had any issues and they work great for loading especially when it's windy or choppy waves it goes up nice! Good question and thank you for watching!!👍😊

@@WhitehouseFarmVet Thanks so much for your quick response. I think I’m going to reverse the U-bolt though. Guide is too high for my boat. Touching the rail. Turning it upside down should lower the guide to a perfect level.

I would have thought installed them from the bottom of the beam. The extended part of the guide could still damage the boat

No the boat can't touch that part! The boat guides are almost a foot and a half above, there is no chance of the boat touching them, thank you for watching!👍

Have these Bunk Guide-Ons helded up for you. I plan on buying them but read negative reviews on Amazon. Some claim they are cheaply made Chinese junk.

Yes they have held up great!!! Plus another great thing about them is when I'm at boat ramps that are not level they help guide the boat into place alot easier! Thank you for watching and good luck!👍😊

I recommend getting 2 sets and 1 set of guide poles. Or just make your own like I did. Reason for pole guides is rear side bunks get submerged but help center rear of boat as it's going on. Reason for 2nd set of side bunks is to center middle and front of boat so it hits the bow roller with no issues ever. Using this combination will make Solo recovery and launching stupid easy. You won't have to deal with current, wind, waves or drift....ever again. Puting boat on trailer should be easy but most the time it isn't because of the reasons I have already stated. Hope this helps you. It did for both of my boat trailers. FYI, I even made boat trailer steps that mounts to the trailer.....some metal and welding. This is my 2nd most important improvement for any boat trailer.

Brother I suggest you get a new trailer. A friend of mine had his colapse while towing his boat luckily no one got hurt. I hate painted trailers. I think galvanized steel is better

Lol it's funny you say that lol this Fridays and Sundays videos are about maintenance, painting ,installing new leds, and all new wiring! I definitely agree with you that galvanized is the way to go! But as you will see in the upcoming videos that trailer is mainly surface rust that I'm able to wire wheel down to good metal, It actually came out really nice! Definitely not professional by any means! but will make it last alot longer or at least prolong it from rusting through, I did go over the trailer it's not as bad as it looked lol Make sure to check them out I know you said you dont like painted but definitely night and day from how it was! Lol Awesome thank you! You have to watch this Fridays video and Sundays it's about the trailer!!! lol I completely redid the trailer with wire wheel, paint all new wiring and led lights! I inspected it ,it was mainly surface rust the trailer is pretty solid! Thank you so much for watching and let me know how you think it turned out after those videos!👍😊🍻
