How to install bumper lip & splitters - Ep 8 of Honda Civic DIY modification series by Preet Singh

Episode 8 of the series in which I do an unboxing and installation of Samurai carbon fiber bumper lip kit (black and red) and Air knife carbon fiber splitters on my Honda Civic 2007 India model.

Background:
During Covid-19 lockdown I had a lot of time on my hands and so decided to use it constructively to completely transform the look of my 13 year old car which had started to look old. I'm a hardcore gamer with Need for Speed being one of my favorite games right from childhood, specially NFS Underground 2 in which I would spend more time modifying cars than driving them. It had been my dream since then to modify my own car but it got sidelined over the years as I got busy with responsibilities that come with growing up. In this series I finally make my childhood dream come true!
In the entire series I have performed every modification all by myself without anyone's help and explained the procedure step by step which makes it purely DIY (do-it-yourself) for the benefit of the viewers who actually want to learn or who just want to avoid a trip to the accessories shop in these uncertain times of the Covid-19 pandemic where social distancing is necessary.
All items used in the entire series have been purchased online and delivered in a contact-less and safe manner.

Why dont u use blower/hair dryer to make the thing curve go soft? Its easy.. my car already use that..

It’s a 13 year old car, there’s many many things which need replacement! Will do them slowly and gradually as my Civic has very minimal running. But at the same time it’s not a crime to make your car look a bit better if it’s that old :)

Brother can we use it without screw ? Is the tape that powerful?

For a few days the tape will stick well, after exposure to weather and water it starts coming off a little bit. You’ll have to keep applying Fevi quik every now and then.

What do u mean by washers in samurai kit

Washers are metal rings through which you pass the screw so that the screw doesn’t pierce right through the rubber skirt when you tighten it.

You should of cut a small “V” shape letter on the corners instead of installing 3 separate pieces.

I tried that, but it works only when the bend is smooth and gradual. My bumper curves at almost 90 degrees, so even with the V cut the strip was getting bent real bad. So had to do it this way.

Glue is not good. Use 3M double sided tape to stick them.

Fevi kwik is better than the glue which comes on the rubber skirt. Abhi tak laga hua hai. Aur pehle “lockdown” and “DIY” ka meanin research karo fir comment karo, Cheers.
