Great video, very informative, one of the best installs I've seen. Though, it looks like they used shackle lift and spacers on the axle mounts in the back making the driveline angles horrendous. I'd expect pretty heavy axle U-joint wear, at those lift heights, what can ya do but custom double cardan axel.

Do you have plans to use portals on one of these trucks ? I have been researching any possibility of off road modification that is possible. It seems ground clearance, power and tire size are the ones to overcome with these already versatile and reliable trucks. The tracks will be a must for me in North Idaho and having more ground clearance, power and choice of tire hieght, width and tread design would be great.

Haven't done portals no. With tracks and the right lift kit you have 18" of ground clearance. Issue with portals would be clearance on the inside of the track. You would have to spacer them way out.

@@4sonsoffroad since the portal install would be custom anyway, could you possibly turn the orientation (45 degrees)of them to move the front drives forward (clear wheel wells)and rear drives back ? This way the case would be inside the tracks and the " lift " would be decreased. A Pinzgauer has portals and I have seen tracks on them. Also if the portals wouldnt work for the tracks because of a required huge offset, then how about larger tires ? The gearing down with portals would compensate for the larger diameter as it does on an atv ?????

HI There!!.. great job but what is the spacing on the output side of your spacer??..........sounds like I am hearing OE is 4 on 100mm and I thought i was hearing 4 on 100mm output as well...??

That's what I heard as well, had to rewind it and that's what I am sure he said. Only size I can think he meant is a 4x100 to a 4x114.3 but idk
