The tool is knee kicker.

Bottom step baggy. Didn’t need to use kicker until step 2 really.

Why are you starting at the bottom ? Don’t make sense pal your knee kicker ent going to work all you’re doing is putting pressure on the small tread and could rip it, start top to bottom easier to control the carpet and the lay of the carpet you should never need to use a stretcher on the stairs, bolster down the riser so you can hit the gripper section the carpet will naturally pull down to tighten up as doing this you will start to see the crease form in the corner of tread and riser then on the next step your carpet will lay naturally on the tread push up some access on the tread and use your bolster and hammer in the crease apply pressure to the crease it will naturally go into the crease when the step is formed tuck down sides of tread and riser with a tuck down knife not the bolster because you could scratch the paint work then rinse and repeat your welcome 🙏🏼 lord a mercy 💪🏼

Thank you for your excellent suggestion! Many carpet professionals indeed choose to work on stair carpets in the manner you described. The reason I opted to start from the bottom going up is because of my weight; I find it more comfortable to work this way. I appreciate your understanding
