Great knowledge, great presentation! 🤜🤛 Very precise control of getting the hole to fit the pin can also be had with a strip of cloth backed abrasive spun onto a slotted mandrel for the Dremel. 👊😎

OMG I'm addicted to your channel lol. I'm planning to do 4 knifes this year before Christmas for all my sons and my brother. Seriously need to learn as much as I can beforehand.

Enjoying the new vids. Great tips on the lanyard tube and the 3in1 after cleaning the fronts. Thanks for taking the time to help us rookies out, love your work.

Just a suggestion, for clean up after the glue up. Rubbing alcohol is a good way to remove excess glue and not affect the epoxy.

Run a letter F drill bit. It's a perfect fit.

Should your drill bit be the exact same size as your brass rod or a little larger? Thanks

I sand down my pins slightly to fit the holes

After you shape your scales the damascus around the scales is now shiny as you have sanded the etch off. how to do fix this or do you just leave that part shiny?
@gentrycustomknives80087 ай бұрын
I re etch those spots with a qtip
@matthewfielding83467 ай бұрын
What do you do to protect the scales when you re etch? Tape?

Have you ever scratched your blade behind the plunge line after the handle is cured? I hate that. How do you fix that? I worry if i try to hand sand it out, i'll see the start marks from the sand paper.

Yup! Well I can’t say I have an answer for fixing a scratch in that spot. The answer is be careful and don’t scratch it lol!

@@gentrycustomknives8008 Well I don't like the answer, but its true. HAHA!

I get this also, even when you tape it, it seems to get grit in the tape and make a scratch, so I stopped using tape. Once the handles are on, and you try to go back in there with sandpaper, you just make things worse, lol, Just gotta really handle it carefully through this step I think.
