hey i did everything here but the audio stopped working for apple car play. do i plug my AUX in and AUX out cables to anything? when i plug them in my bmw idrive says aux isn’t connected to anything

Because if you just want to operate the radio while it's stationary, you have to have the ignition on all the time and you'll damage the battery all the faster!!! In the normal case, the original display can also be switched on without the ignition and it has an automatic switch-off function, so you save the battery a lot more instead of constantly having the entire ignition and electronics in the car on just because you want the display to be on. So unfortunately the Chinese didn't think about that...

Check your connection, it happened me also had to strip dash again and connector had come loose.
