I started to really think about to install the 14,9" screen in my F07. At first i thought that this sharp shape doesn't fit at all to the F07 interior, but now i started to like it. To be honest it even looks more elegant to me than 12" version. Bogdan, maybe you already saw this 14,9" version in real life?

Your video was one of a few 🙂 Okay, so maybe i can ask one more question? :-) When you open the original car menu, there is a clocks on a blue background on the right side of a screen. Do you know, is it possible to choose some other color to fit more to original BMW style, or at least leave it black?

I’m gonna wait and shell out on a OEM NBT-EVO upgrade (way better integrated) and will be connected with the 4G module. And a 14.9” screen to get a better experience since it’s the most similar with the current bmw layout. Looking around 2.3k :)

Many times it is a thing of personal preference. I would say that before spending the money on the NBT evo, buy a 12.6 and try it a few days. buy it on amazon and return it if you don't like it. It might surprise you. This is because I have worked on G30s with oem nbt evo and the screen and system did not impress me. They have better reverse cam + menu integration, but for Carplay / android auto the big screens are better.

Currtently in touch for the 14.9 screen. A company said the quality is suck compare to a LG lcd 12 inch with a qualcomm proecessor... what are you're thoughts?

it can work, as the navi function is done by the car media unit not by the screen . Now I don\t see why you would want old bmw maps vs live maps on waze.

But unfortunately the 15inch android head unit is not available with snapdragon only with cortex or mtk cpu otherwise I would buy it and what do you think of the new 12.3 inch with thin bezels??

i bought one of these units but i have no sound and the optics are connected correctly.only thing is when i bought it i asked for the evo unit but when installing the new screen the plug that goes at the back of the screen was the wrong way round so i bought an extention to get it the right way round and the unit works but like i say no sond,will this effect it?

no. sound is not dependent on the video cable. what you need to find out is if you need to connect any aux cable or if there is a different harness altogether for your version of car.

@BestCarMods yes I think thats where the problem is.mine had an aux that goes into a usb box that plugs into the car usbs but ironically they stop working when I fitted this unit.pluged it the aux instead and no sound.so I put the the old screen and harness back in and the aux works with my itouch.put the new unit back in but I connected the itouch back in again and the aux was dead just hissing.long and shirt is my usbs now dont work even with the old head unit but they have power. So maybe a harness problem because it's like the amp in the car is off and only works with the original unit.

the unboxed 12.3 unit was a faulty unit that got returned to the seller. at the this time I consider the 15 inch one to be the best for the f10s

I've been on the fence for a while whether to upgrade my 8.25" screen. Aliexpress have some great prices, but in all the video reviews that I've seen, nobody mentions import duty, customs and VAT. I dont want to connect aux for its audio, can you elaborate on that more? Do i loose my normal audio like in stock car, i have to use it aux? Or is that audio only used for when connecting adroid auto, which means if i connect my phone, i wont be avle tp play music with that phone anymore. I really will not connect this anadroid unit to my aux from mid console

@@Justinas189 yes. you also have the option of calibrating the sound, however keep in mind that some low cost units might not have a good DSP chip/software.

Hi there, I'm thinking about getting the 12.3" screen that you have linked from Aliexpress as I currently only have the standard 7" screen in my 2016 F10. How do these screens work as I only really want it for displaying my original BMW idrive and then of course Android Auto. I don't want to have to sign into Google accounts to allow setup etc. Thanks!

Your use scenario is exactly how I use the unit. That is the reason for which you don't need crazy specs. Android Auto runs on your phone. If you can justify the price difference I recommend to get the Xtrons from Amazon. The screen is better quality.

@@SAMW98SO 12.3: geni.us/EaOH (amazon) additional tip: Don't install the GPS sensor or the 4G/5G antenna. they are not needed. Also you make sure that the unit can't track you and it can't connect to the internet without you allowing it.

I am struggling with to buy it or not. I have a couple of questions. Is the brightness adjustable? Can you put the screen off when driving? When you put the gear in R, does the original screen pop up with the sensors? Because i do not have a rear camera and i am not planning to install it either. Is it dangerous because of the possible heat? I like to go on vacation in the summer where it is hot throughout the day.. Should i do it? Help me please. I have an f10 from 2011 with the 10inch screen.
