How to install Eave Vents / Soffit Vents | DIY

How to install Eave Vents / Soffit Vents. Ideal for general roof ventilation or as an intake with rotary (whirly bird type) roof vents. Assists with general roof ventilation and air circulation. Protects from dampness and mould in winter. Reduces cooling costs in summer.
This particular one is a Builders Edge brand purchased from Bunnings for around $23 (2 pack). The process for other brands would be similar if not the exact same.
Tools needed:
Pencil
Tape measure or ruler
Angle grinder etc
Screws
Screwdriver or drill etc

1:58 good comment about rotating the vent to face the house. Have heard that these rust pretty quick, so would be keen on your views as to how they're stacking up a year on (both as a the rust-proof finish and if it's made a difference in heating/cooling).

Hi, sorry for delay. They have not rusted at all which is great. I believe they have made a difference, if only slightly

Good video, I believe the Aluminium type that you install doesn't rust compare to the metal ones, it's been a year since your post please confirm if any sign of rust.

Hi mate, wondering what screws did you use and how did you go about selecting a location and detecting studs?

@gurusevuppal758 sorry can’t recall, I have a ridiculous amount of screws & just used some of what I had. Recommend using a stud finder if worried about stud locations or old school knock method. Location wise I just roughly spaced them out evenly
