The system is recharged with a 3Kw array and works well on all but the darkest days. Only thing i would change is to go with the ten circuit transfer sw so i could have the option to power the circuits i am using at the time which turns out to be more than six....not at the same time but running this every day i use more than six curcuits over the course of a day.

I like the concept but from what I’ve seen (I haven’t personally tested these units) when you use the hub to create a split phase connection, the two units don’t synchronize their batteries together. Even only utilizing 6 circuits in the house, you have a high potential for unbalanced loads which could drain the battery faster on one DP than the other. That and the odd placement for the hub connections makes it difficult to put the units side by side because you have to stagger them to have access to the ports.
@aday1637 Жыл бұрын
Your issue is a non-issue. Just like your meter/panel from the grid it's not balanced either. Ever have a failure due to that? I didn't think you would say yes. Understand before you comment, please. For pete's sake if you have two mugs of beverage and you drink from one more than the other you also have an unbalanced load on the glass mug. So what!!!!!
@AdamDeLayDIY Жыл бұрын
I understand balancing loads very well, however in your example of the grid, you don't run out of power if you use significantly more power on one leg vs the other. With these units, if one unit runs out of power, I believe they both shut down.
@sunyun4425 Жыл бұрын
another video mentioned this imbalanced load draining with the 2 Delta Pro and voltage doubler, it's unfortunate design limitation. This means users must manually switch the cords on the 2 delta pros at the doubler periodically, i think a charging box between 1 DP outlet and the other input port might do the trick but not sure

Can I leave the batteries feeding those circuits while running the rest off the grid? Or is it just for grid down situations?
@neocrypto9368 Жыл бұрын
You should never plug a Delta pro into an AC outlet to charge while connected to a manual transfer switch as that creates a ground loop and double ground/neutral bond. AC input is also disabled when using the double voltage hub. And connecting a single phase power station to a split phase manual transfer switch using an adapter that bridges X-Y can be dangerous. If multi wire branch circuits are used in that setup there is potential to overload the neutral and cause a fire. The only way to provide automatic backup for grid down natively is using the Smart Home Panel which only works with Delta Pro or Power Kits.
@EcoFlowTech Жыл бұрын
Thank you for adding more information!
@CharlieS-d4f Жыл бұрын
Some questions from a non-electrician regarding this. Does the potential for a "double ground/neutral bond" mean that you can never use household AC input to charge the EcoFlow when the 240v hub is connecting the two units? If that's the case, it would seem to imply that you need to disconnect the EcoFlow from the hub, and then plug in for AC charging. True? You also mention that "AC input is disabled when using the double voltage hub" - does this simply mean that the first situation, where the double ground/neutral bond is created - can't happen because the EcoFlow disables itself? Sorry for the longish and possibly naive questions, but my understanding of electricity is pretty rudimentary.
@tideview1 Жыл бұрын
When I installed the Reliance manual transfer switch to have backup from a single Delta 2 unit, Reliance tech support provided info to mitigate the two issues you address.
@neocrypto9368 Жыл бұрын
@@CharlieS-d4f Any use of the infinity ports disables the normal AC input and AC outlets (EV Adapter, Double Voltage Hub, Smart Home Panel). However, I still do not advise plugging into an AC outlet while already connected to the home electrical system (via Smart Home Panel or DVH using an inlet/interlock or manual transfer switch). So, yes, if using the DVH, you would need to disconnect from that and then charge from an AC outlet.
@neocrypto9368 Жыл бұрын
@@tideview1And what was the information? AC charging from a wall out is simply not possible while using the Double Voltage Hub, by design. Any method of attaching a power station to the home electrical system with the ground conductor in place (code/safety) would make it dangerous to then plug the AC input back into the same system. So unless you have a transfer switch that totally isolated neutral and ground (which exist but are not typical) you should never attempt that.

Great video, what are the pros/cons of using 2 Delta Pros vs 1 Delta Pro with an extra battery?
@EcoFlowTech10 ай бұрын
Hi cheers! For 2 Delta Pros, besides the increase in capacity, you will also get another 3600W output which is helpful if you need to charge more appliances. Btw, if you chain two pros together with a double voltage hub, you can get a 240v 7200w max output. With 1 Delta Pro and 1 extra battery, the maximum power output you will get is 3600w output and the ac output ports is limited. To put it simply, with extra batteries, what you get is only an increased capacity. Let me know if you have other questions🙌

My hunch is the Ecoflow Delta Pro recharges when grid power is restored and the Transfer switches are set to "Line"Position, and they basically forward feed power from the main or sub panel through the transfer switch and the DVH (Dual Voltage Hub) to the 2 Delta Pros. That's my guess, since as others have stated, all other AC in/outlet ports on the Delta Pros are automatically disabled when using the voltage doubler. My Hope however is that, you can still charge the DPs via the solar charging port as that is a DC input which elimates the aformentioned "Double Bonded Ground /Nuetral Loop" problem. So if you have a generator and AC to DC charger or Solar panels you can probably charge the DPs while using the DVH(hub)

A transfer switch is per-circuit. For each breaker within the transfer switch, there are three positions: grid, off and backup. When the grid comes back online, those circuits not on the transfer switch - or those on the transfer switch but togged to "grid" will come back online from grid power. You must then toggle the backup circuits back to grid or they will remain running on generator.

What is the difference between the " Transfer Switch " and the " Smart Home Panel " ? Do you need both? I have two Delta Pro's and the Smart Home Panel . will i also need the Transfer Switch too?

Hi! To answer your question: 1. They are different in nature. There are manual transfer switch and automatic transfer switch. Smart home panel is automatic electrical sub-panel (with a switch inside) that can monitor the power consumption of each open circuit (up to 10 circuits) at the same time and remotely control them. 2. Smart home panel can only chain with Delta Pros while transfer switch can chain with other solar generators such as Delta 2 Max. To put it another way, the transfer switch is a gadget with which you manually switch to the supply of solar generators at blackouts.

@ecoflow @average_joe does this type of setup allow you to run circuits off of the DP's while the main panel is still energized from grid? Seems like an opportunity to run these circuits off battery while charging via solar and saving a few bucks each month thus getting return on investment.

Hi there, this setup is not grid-tied. When you switch to backup power(Delta Pro), the grid power is cut off. Even though the Delta Pro is charged via solar panels, the electricity will not feed back to the grid. When you switch to grid, the power goes to your loads and Delta Pro at the same time.

@@EcoFlowTech you misunderstood my question but I found the answer I was seeking. This type of setup allows you to seamlessly switch power between the grid and the EF units without relocating the circuit out of the main panel. I think this is a great setup to use your EF units when you have solar charging and avoid using grid power and thus save money.
