Thanks for all explanation. Must to say too: ENB and Reshade require a good machine to get to work well. It decrease some FPS.

Yes that's definetly true. Especially effects like DOF or blur are harder to render. The Decent ENB is a great uprade to the image without beeing too heavy on your system, besides that you can always disable some effects you don't like, so give it a try if you can!

No, reshade only installs files into the directory of the specific game you choose to.

Is there a way to tell just what the amount of FPS will be lost based on how an ENB looks from screenshots and the like?

Basically the better the Enb looks (or the more it changes the overall look of the game) the more performance it will take. Especially heavy visual effects, like volumetric lighting, fog, reflections etc., are more intense to render. For the enb I’m using you could expect loosing about 30% of your FPS.

@@thatMPSG This is my third attempt to respond to you, this time without a hyperlink. So! I'm looking to be using a ENB named Vivid ENB by CoolWave101z. Without installing and testing the thing, would you say that this particular ENB preset uses heavy visual effects? What reduction in performance would you expect?

@@dapperultron1784 The simplest way to find out is just to try it. You can't do anything wrong with installing and uninstalling an ENB preset. Just create a folder with all important ENB related files and drag them into your Data folder, so when you're re/uninstalling ENB and a specific preset, you just have to copy it. There's a simple tool called "Enb and ReShade remover" you just have to copy into the Data folder and run, then it removes everything related to ENB and ReShade. After that just copy your ENB files you saved in your newly created folder back into Data. Takes a few seconds to do, I do it all the time!

I already am using REACTOR and the game looks better than Cyberpunk 2077 you know how it is, but I´ve never used a reshade along with any ENB, what adds Reshade that ENB don´t and how about performance impact?

Reshade adds many different visual processing effects, filters and more. A lot of them are not included in ENBs and are easier to manage in Reshade. It's not necessary but very nice to have, especially for games that don't have specific visual overhaul mods available, so you can tweak alot with it. It's an easy (un)install so best you try for yourself, but the performance impact is rather small for most effects.

I am in the minority but I hate ENBs and reshades. They always seem to kill my FPS, I drop at least 20 on every one. More power to those who love them but they ruin it all for me. And my laptop is no slouch (Asus Rog Strix G713QM)
